For those utilizing public transportation, numerous MTA bus routes traverse Northern Boulevard, offering convenient connections to subway lines and other parts of New York City. The restaurant's presence in Little Neck positions it as a sophisticated culinary haven away from the extreme hustle of Manhattan, yet still easily reachable for New Yorkers seeking a high-end Japanese dining experience.
Omakase Ichi, living up to its name, specializes in providing a meticulously crafted and immersive Japanese dining experience, with a strong focus on high-quality ingredients and expert preparation.
- Omakase Dining Experience: The core offering is the traditional omakase, where guests entrust their meal to the chef. This multi-course tasting menu features seasonal, hand-selected ingredients, with a particular emphasis on fresh sushi and sashimi.

This feature allows for meats, seafood, and vegetables to be expertly grilled over open charcoal, imparting unique smoky and umami flavors to these dishes. This expands the Japanese culinary offerings beyond raw fish.

- "Fair Prices" for the Quality: Despite offering a premium, high-quality experience, reviewers note "fair prices." While omakase inherently comes with a higher cost, this suggests that the value received for the exceptional quality is perceived as excellent.
As a restaurant specializing in omakase, a form of Japanese fine dining where the chef selects the courses, Omakase Ichi (formerly Tara Japanese Cuisine) typically operates with a set menu at a fixed price rather than offering traditional "promotions" or "special offers" in the conventional sense. Customers have noted the "fair prices" for the high quality offered, implying that while it is a premium dining experience, it is considered well worth the cost. The price point is generally reflective of the meticulously sourced, fresh, and often rare ingredients, as well as the expertise of the "masters" preparing each dish. While specific dollar figures for the omakase were not provided in the initial text, typical omakase experiences in New York can range from $100-$300+ per person, with "fair prices" suggesting it falls on the more accessible end of the high-end spectrum for the quality delivered. It is always recommended for New Yorkers to inquire about current pricing and menu details when making a reservation, as these can fluctuate based on seasonal ingredient availability.

Tara Japanese Cuisine Reviews
Now renovated and called “Omakase Ichi.” Which translates to First class Custom Sushi. Little Neck’s little secret that has EXPLODED on the scene recently. Masters. fair prices, that is all you have to know
May 13 · Jenda NYCThis is definitely a gem in the neighborhood. This is my second time here this week. Yea, this good! Best uni and scallops in New York! So creamy and sweet! Everything is so fresh. They have a bar with a variety of drinks too. High quality fish, great ambience, beautiful presentation, awesome service! Will definitely come back again… probably next week!
September 08 · Bella-NEWThe experience was great, the price was reasonable, and the fish was fresh! I think it is the best sushi in Little Neck. It is also very convenient for friends who live in Flushing to come here. The bosses Ben and Jimmy are very welcoming, and we had a great time drinking sake bombs.
June 07 · Mo ChuqiaoWe came for valentines dinner and I think it was too busy of a night for the restaurant crew to handle. Pretty sure at some point they lost track of where everyone was in their omakase course. The sushi chef was so busy he gave up even telling us the fish names. We waited a good 10 min between each course and they also messed up the delivery order ( we got some appetizer after starting on sushi)They have pretty good fish and I think I agree with one of the other reviews stating they’re the best sushi place in the little neck/bayside area. The only thing that was weird was the appetizer egg was cold. Anyway, just don’t come on a busy night. Not worthWow!update, they charge you 4% for using a credit card. Lame.
February 15 · Michelle Cheung100% recommended. My friend brought me here to eat. The waiter was very considerate and nice. The sushi fish was very fresh. The chef would carefully introduce each dish.
