Japanese restaurant ★4.0 (9)·$10–20

336 Kearny St, San Francisco, CA 94108, USA

4.0
Got lunch with a couple other people. There were lots good options but if you want to pick from everything get there when they open. I got a hand roll and a teriyaki salmon bowl and shared the special roll. I liked the hand roll the best and also enjoyed the cabbage in the teriyaki bowl. The special roll was just shrimp tempura topped with imitation crab, some sauces, and roe. I plan to try another roll next time I go there. It’s a pretty tight space and you have to go some else to eat it. Great place to grab something quickly and get back to work - Claire Mizutani

Among the myriad of dining options, Tenmatsu San Francisco stands out as a beloved, family-owned Japanese restaurant that has become a go-to for those seeking authentic flavors without a lengthy sit-down commitment. It’s the kind of place where the aroma of freshly prepared Japanese cuisine signals that you’re about to enjoy a satisfying meal, even on the busiest of days.

Tenmatsu embodies the spirit of efficient, high-quality Japanese comfort food. While the space itself might be described as "tight," its focus is squarely on delivering excellent food that’s perfect for a "grab and go" experience. This makes it an ideal choice for the many professionals in the area who need to maximize their lunch break, or for anyone looking for a convenient and tasty dinner solution to take home. Despite its primary focus on takeout, the consistent quality of their sushi, donburi bowls, and other Japanese staples has earned them a loyal following among San Francisco residents. It's a testament to the idea that great food doesn't always require a sprawling dining room; sometimes, it just needs to be genuinely good and easily accessible.

Location and Accessibility

Tenmatsu San Francisco is conveniently located at 336 Kearny St, San Francisco, CA 94108, USA, placing it squarely in the heart of the bustling Financial District. This central positioning is a significant advantage for its local clientele, primarily those working in the numerous office buildings that surround it. For anyone needing a quick and satisfying Japanese meal during their workday, Tenmatsu's location is hard to beat.

Accessibility to Tenmatsu is straightforward, whether you're on foot, using public transport, or even if you're navigating the city by car (though parking in the Financial District can, as always, require some planning). The restaurant is well-served by San Francisco's extensive public transportation network, with various MUNI bus lines and cable car stops within easy walking distance. This makes it a popular spot for commuters and residents from different parts of the city. While the reviews indicate a "tight space" primarily designed for "grab and go," the convenience of its location for quick pickups and returns to work is a major draw. Its presence on Kearny Street, a main thoroughfare for lunch options, further cements its status as an accessible and desirable spot for authentic Japanese cuisine for the busy San Francisco local.

Promotions or Special Offers

Given Tenmatsu San Francisco's focus on efficient, high-volume lunch service, direct information about ongoing daily promotions or extensive special offers is not widely publicized in the provided data.
