Tenroku Sushi is known for its distinctive "sushi boat" concept, where a variety of freshly prepared sushi plates glide by, allowing diners to pick and choose at their leisure. This interactive and efficient dining style is a significant draw, especially for those on a tight schedule or simply enjoying the novelty. While the prices are noted as "above average" for this style, the quality of the sushi, particularly items like the "tuna sashimi" which reviewers described as "very good" with "two big chunks," justifies the cost. The focus here is on delivering a fresh and enjoyable sushi experience with remarkable speed.
Despite the fast pace, the "staff is friendly," contributing to a positive atmosphere, even if they sometimes "look stressed because of the quick turnaround." This dedication to quick service, combined with a good selection of "nice options," makes Tenroku Sushi a highly practical and enjoyable destination for quick, quality Japanese food in San Francisco's bustling Japan Center.

Tenroku Sushi Reviews
TLDR: above average sushi at an above average price (for sushi boat sushi)I got six plates and it came out to $36 before tax and tip. That’s on average about $6 a plate. I did get one expensive o-toro for about $8.50 which was just ok, tasted a little fishy. My favorite was actually the tuna sashimi, it had two big chunks that were very good.
Nov 25, 2024 · Wilson TsangNice Experience, super faced paced and more like a fast pace sit down sushi restaurant. We went on a Saturday evening before our movie. They have some nice options and i like how quick it is for a quick meal! Staff is friendly but they look stressed because of the quick turnaround.
Aug 25, 2024 · Jo VThe sushi was okay and I had a bit of fish scales on the salmon in my mouth. It might be something they could pay a little more attention to. Overall, it's a casual spot for conveyor belt sushi.
Sep 29, 2024 · Grace LeeFriendly staff and they made great fresh sushi on demand. Creative and efficient. We came in within the last 30 minutes before the closing time. Sushi chef and staff made us feel welcome and kept serving us delicious sushi plates. The highlight was the baby octopus, fresh and crunchy. Chicken karaage was juicy and freshly made. Great taste and texture for all the dishes. They also did a great job searing the fish and scallop sushi. Excellent uni dishes as well. We ended with baked unagi sushi to wrap up the feast. Great value and taste.
Dec 30, 2023 · V WGreat selection and high quality sushi. I highly recommend the Naruto-style (cucumber wrapped) rolls!
