Tokyo Grill Reviews
Tokyo Grill on Maine Street in Suffolk is finally open for indoor dining. My wife and I were excited about going back. Prior to COVID we really liked the food and service there. The Chicken and Broccoli and the Shrimp and Broccoli were favorites. This afternoon we went back and had Chicken and Broccoli and Shrimp and Broccoli. The Broccoli was over cooked, the chicken didn't taste good and it was way too salty. Miso soup wasn't as good as before, avocado salad was drowned in dressing, sushi was good. Although not all great we ate everything except for the chicken and shrimp broccoli dishes. When the waitress asked how we liked the food my wife told her that the broccoli was over cooked and I told her it was too salty. The waitress laughed and said "so sorry". My wife said we aren't paying for something that isn't good and we didn't eat. Waitress said we had to pay. We told her to call the police which she did. Two Suffolk police officers showed up and very professionally negotiated between the parties. We offered to pay for the food that we ate, but the restaurant wanted to press charges for petty theft. We said go ahead, we hadn't stolen anything. After the police talked with them they agreed not to press charges, we paid the $30 for the food we ate and they still tried to get their 18% "service fee". Didn't pay it. Other restaurants would have not changed for the food we didn't like or eat and some would even give a discount coupon to return and give them another try.
Jan 18, 2025 · Jim GrahamGirlfriend took me there. Twas my first time having this restaurant and all I have to say after I devoured the sesame chicken with noodles is damn. This was one of the best food I’ve ever had. Compliments to the staff :)
Sep 19, 2024 · Jarod HoffmanThe food was somewhere between lukewarm and tepid. I asked the waitress (owner’s daughter) twice for chopsticks but never got them. Asked for the bill to be split between my colleague and myself, received one check instead. The worst part is that any patron who dines in, regardless of the number of people, is automatically charged an 18% service fee. When I asked what it was for, I was told it was for gratuity. Beware, don’t tip twice.
Feb 26, 2025 · Steve ElishaWith all of the recent great reviews, I was definitely feeling hopeful, but the food is not worth the price you pay nor the time you spend waiting on your order to be fulfilled. My entire to-go order tasted like it was yesterday's leftovers served today and my fountain soda was flat. I ordered the pineapple chicken (pictured) - tastes just like orange chicken though orange chicken is a separate menu item and there's clearly no actual pineapple (which I was hoping for). I'm not completely sure if I even received what I ordered because we requested a receipt and didn't receive one. First and last time coming here.
Oct 30, 2022 · Alicia CostelloIf i could guve 0 stars i would... Placed an order. Told 25 mins. Okay. Was shocked at the price for 2 items house special meifun, okay it's more than the others. Fine. (Also they don't have their cool cash deals anymore unless you spend 50$ which at their prices just order 3 things. Sigh7$ for teriyaki chicken sticks.Arrive at the place, look at the menu, see now it's only 3 chicken sticks. Not, 5 or 4 like normal. 3.After waiting for another 30 mins. I finally get my food without even a sorry or here's extra food. Nope. (No one called and no one walked in) I was the only person in there the entire time.I get home to see this. Tiny, small, over cooked, dry pathetic excuse for what is chicken teriyaki sticks. And im out 7$.This place use to be really good, really fast, good portions. Now I'm not sure what's going on now. Will never eat here again. Will never recommend this place again.Would love a full refund and an apology for this piss poor excuse for food I just paid for. Again. 0 stars.
