Tokyo Japanese Steak House Reviews
Normally I love this place. The food is great and it's always a great time. Last night our party of 6 people including 2 kids, showed up for our 6:30pm reservation. At 7:00 we asked if there was going to be much more of a wait. The hostess said oh we can do this table over here, but you guys would be separated. We figured it might not be that big of a deal and asked to see the table. When we got there, there was seating for three, a huge pole and then seating for two that they went to grab a chair to add. This added spot you wouldn't have even been able to see the chef cooking hibachi, which is kind of the whole point. Since we were there as a family and didn't want to split the kids up, we asked if we could wait for another table. We were told no it would be a really long wait. At the table next to us there was a group that was finishing up and we asked if we could move over to that spot and were told no that spot is for 8 people and we only have 6. We asked to speak to management since it clearly seemed our reservation got lost in the mix of the busy night and nobody was willing to help us out. Management could've cared less and didn't even attempt to correct their wrong. We ended up leaving and will not be back.
January 01 · Lauryn MarinoIf I could give it a 0, I would. I go to this place often, ignoring the terrible service but today what came to my attention was how rude the waitress was.Me and my friend got hot pot and the total came out to be $103 which is fine but was absurd for what we ordered so we double checked the check, as one would, but as time went on as we were trying to calculate it, workers kept hovering over us as if we were doing something shady, we then asked a question about the check and got attitude and a calculator thrown onto our table. Very disgusting way to treat a customer, which is why we decided to not tip, but when we paid the bill and the waitress seen we didn’t tip, she yelled at us to “never come back again, you’re not welcome here anymore, you don’t know how to leave a tip, not even $1”.Personally I am a very good tipper because I personally know that some people live off of tips but if you’re being rude, then you don’t deserve it, end of story. (I still ended up tipping and apologized for the inconvenience because I felt bad and she took the money from my hand and didn’t say anything back)
April 21 · Tianna LeakWe came with 4 adults and 4 children. Everyone had a great time. The chef was wonderful. The server and hostess were very friendly. Would definitely rerun.
April 27 · BI usually don’t write reviews, but my recent experience at this restaurant was upsetting and disappointing enough to speak out.During my visit, everything seemed normal until it came time to pay. I was handed a bill that wasn’t mine — it belonged to a white couple who were not charged with a tip included. What stood out, though, was that my bill already included a tip, something that wasn’t done for the couple before me.As a Spanish person, it was hard not to notice the clear difference in treatment. It left me feeling racially profiled — as if the staff assumed I wouldn’t tip and decided to force gratuity onto my bill. It’s offensive, unfair, and incredibly disappointing.Everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect and fairness, regardless of their background. This experience has made it clear to me that this establishment has some reflecting to do when it comes to how they treat their customers
April 06 · Carlos LopezI rarely leave negative reviews, but I had such a disappointing experience here that I feel compelled to share. The service was absolutely terrible. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were an inconvenience rather than guests. The waitress was incredibly rude and dismissive. When we ordered drinks, they tasted like bleach, and when we asked for replacements, she acted like we were bothering her. We ended up leaving because the attitude was just unbearable. It’s unfortunate because the restaurant had potential, but I won’t be coming back after such a negative experience. Would not recommend.
