### Services Offered
Tokyo Kalbi offers a range of services designed to provide a comprehensive and enjoyable Japanese BBQ experience:
Dine-In with Tabletop Grills: The signature service at Tokyo Kalbi is the interactive dine-in experience, where each table is equipped with its own personal charcoal grill. This allows diners to cook their chosen cuts of meat to their preferred level of doneness, adding a fun and engaging element to the meal. The use of Binchotan charcoal, a high-grade Japanese charcoal, ensures no flames and minimal smoke, enhancing the grilling process and meat flavor.
Premium Meat Selection: The restaurant prides itself on offering a wide selection of high-quality meats, including various cuts of beef, pork, and seafood. Their "Premium Kalbi" (short ribs) and "Binbin Bap" (Bibimbap) are frequently praised by customers. Meats are hand-sliced by artisans, ensuring precise cuts and optimal tenderness.
Authentic Side Dishes (Banchan): Tokyo Kalbi serves a variety of flavorful side dishes, including homemade kimchi, namul (spinach, bean sprouts, cabbage), and various pickled vegetables. While some of these items, like kimchi, might now come at an additional cost, their quality and taste remain highly regarded.
Homemade Dipping Sauces: To complement the grilled meats, Tokyo Kalbi offers a selection of house-made dipping sauces, including original (soy-based), spicy, and shio (salt-based) options, allowing diners to customize their flavor experience.

Desserts like matcha cheesecake and creme brulee are also available to round out the meal.
Reservations Accepted: Tokyo Kalbi accepts reservations, which can be particularly useful during peak dining hours to ensure a table, especially for larger groups. This helps manage wait times and provides a smoother dining experience.

Flavorful Kimchi and Side Dishes: Despite changes in pricing for some items, the kimchi at Tokyo Kalbi is frequently praised for its robust flavor. Other traditional Korean and Japanese side dishes are also well-prepared and complement the main barbecue offerings, creating a balanced and authentic meal.

Tokyo Kalbi Reviews
Great food, good service. The kimchi is flavorful, and the meat is tender. The option to cook it yourself is good. The prices have increased over the past few years, and things like bean sprouts no longer come for free.
April 21 · Javen RahemtullaGood Korean barbecue. I am a regular customer here, and they have been increasing prices. When you sit down, a moist towel is waiting for you. The Kim-Chee used to be free, now it is $6. Nonetheless, it is still very tasty. The premium Kalbi is very flavorful. The binbin bap is also amazing.
September 25 · Javen RFood is good but beware that the portions are very small compared to other places. The server said each order of meat is about 70 to 80 grams (2.5 ounces). So be prepared to need to order 4 meat orders per person if you’re hungry.
January 08 · Jason ChenWent here twice during my time in California from Dec '21 to Jan '22, first with my mom's Russian friend living in LA and my younger brother and then on my own. Tokyo Kalbi is special for Japanese BBQ in LA in the sense that it is one of the few Japanese BBQ joints in LA that uses charcoal instead of gas or electric grills, which really helps to enhance the flavors of the meat. The Premium Kobe beef tongue and short ribs were especially outstanding, though I would recommend ordering them beforehand, including for thickly-cut beef tongue. It's also best to reserve your table beforehand as well. If I were given the choice to come to this joint the next time I'm in California, I would gladly do so!Would highly recommend this joint if you want proper Japanese food in LA!
