Disappointed to say the least.. I just packed a huge u haul for most of the day, and i was starving.First time eating here and last. It was completely empty, which I should have followed my gut and bailed but was so hungry.I ordered teriyaki chicken and Goyza it was $12.99. You can pick from two different sized to go containers, the larger one is the normal sized to go container from every other teriyaki restaurant. And by no means do you get a larger portion. I got 9 pieces of chicken total for the extra $2 I paid.-No sauces are available to use at tables-Must pay for any sauces .40 each or 3 for a dollar-No garbage cans in store must take garbage with you-Chicken was so chewy tasted like metal-Rice was hard with no taste had very cold spots thru out. There are so many teriyaki places around, so pick another one and do not waste your money here.I love when restaurant owners are so cheap but start unloading supplies out of a brand new Tesla. But i guess that's why they have the tesla. Good luck!!- - Eddie Mckay

Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok Introduce

Located at 11603 State Ave # F, Marysville, WA 98271, Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok presents itself as a local destination for Japanese and Asian-inspired cuisine. In the context of a platform like "Doctor Near Me," while not offering medical services, Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok provides a different kind of local essential: accessible and convenient food services that contribute to daily well-being by offering a meal solution. For individuals and families in Marysville, it stands as a ready option for a quick lunch or dinner, catering to the need for readily available sustenance in the community.

The restaurant can be reached by phone at (360) 657-5040, and also via mobile at +1 360-657-5040. This direct contact information facilitates easy order placement for takeout, a common choice for many customers. Based on typical operating hours for similar establishments, Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok likely serves lunch and dinner, accommodating various schedules throughout the week. While specific daily hours are not provided in the given information, such restaurants usually operate from late morning until early evening, offering flexibility for customers seeking a meal during standard dining times.

Environment

The available customer reviews suggest that the dining environment at Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok might be minimalist, with one reviewer noting that the restaurant was "completely empty" during their visit. This could imply a focus on quick service and takeout rather than a full-service, sit-down dining experience with extensive ambiance. The lack of readily available sauces at tables and the requirement to pay for them, along with the absence of garbage cans inside the store, further indicate a streamlined, possibly utilitarian, setup designed for efficiency over a lavish dining atmosphere. Customers are expected to take their garbage with them, which reinforces the idea of a grab-and-go model rather than a traditional dine-in establishment. The location on State Ave suggests it is situated within a commercial area, offering convenient access for local residents and those passing through.

Services

Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok primarily caters to takeout orders. The operational model, as inferred from customer feedback, seems heavily geared towards efficiency in preparing food for external consumption. While the information doesn't explicitly state delivery services, it's common for similar establishments in this category to partner with third-party delivery platforms. The emphasis on "to-go containers" further supports the takeout-centric approach. The observation about order wait times suggests that while orders are processed, there can be delays, with one customer reporting a 45-minute wait for an order that was estimated to take 20 minutes. This indicates that while they strive for quick service, peak times or operational factors might lead to longer waits. The payment structure for sauces (40 cents each or 3 for a dollar) indicates an unbundling of services, where standard condiments are an additional cost, which is a departure from many other teriyaki establishments.

Features

The menu at Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok appears to focus on core teriyaki dishes and wok-cooked items, typical of hybrid Japanese-Asian restaurants.

  • Teriyaki: The primary offering includes Teriyaki Chicken, a staple of Japanese-American cuisine. The pricing of $12.99 for chicken and Gyoza suggests a standard meal price point for the area. However, a significant point of contention from customer feedback is the portion size, with one reviewer stating that even the "larger" to-go container does not provide a "larger portion" compared to other teriyaki restaurants, and that they received only nine pieces of chicken for the extra cost. This implies that portion value might be a key consideration for customers.
  • Wok Dishes: The name "Wok" suggests a variety of Chinese-inspired stir-fried dishes, such as Mongolian Beef, which was specifically mentioned in a review. The ability to customize spice levels for these dishes, as indicated by a request for "extra spicy," points to some degree of flexibility in preparation.
  • Sides and Add-ons: Gyoza (dumplings) are offered as a side. However, the lack of sweet and sour sauce served with egg rolls, as noted by a customer, suggests that traditional accompaniments might not always be included or available without extra cost.
Promotional Information and Customer Experiences

The customer reviews offer a candid look into the restaurant's reception. A significant point of negative feedback revolves around the food quality. One reviewer described the chicken as "so chewy" and tasting "like metal," with rice being "hard with no taste" and having "cold spots." Another found the Mongolian beef not spicy enough even when requested extra spicy. These critical observations about the core ingredients and preparation suggest inconsistency in the kitchen.

The portion size and value for money are also recurring concerns. Customers feel that even the "larger" takeout containers do not offer a genuinely larger portion, and that the extra cost for these containers does not translate into more food. The charge for sauces (40 cents each or 3 for a dollar) is perceived as an additional cost that detracts from the overall value, especially when other establishments typically provide sauces for free.

Service speed is another aspect with mixed reviews, with one customer experiencing a wait time more than double the original estimate. The comment about the "brand new Tesla" being used to unload supplies while the restaurant exhibits "cheap" practices regarding sauces and garbage disposal points to a disconnect in perceived value and operational choices from a customer's perspective. The overall sentiment from these reviews is strong dissatisfaction, leading to declarations of "definitely won't be back" and advice for others to "pick another one and do not waste your money here."

In summary, Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok in Marysville, WA, aims to serve the local community with Japanese and Asian-inspired takeout options. While it offers the convenience of quick meals, customer feedback highlights significant concerns regarding food quality, portion sizes, value for money, and certain operational policies like charging for sauces and the lack of in-store garbage cans. For potential customers in the Marysville area, it is important to consider these varied experiences when deciding whether to choose Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok for their dining needs.
