TOMO Asian Fusion Reviews
Outstanding service, quality, and value. Our waiter from the beginning was attentive and welcoming. We did not feel rushed nor did we feel like we were waiting long periods of time to be attended to.The food was incredible! I got the sashimi dinner which was the most high quality sashimi I’ve ever gotten and one of the best portion sizing in the area. Presentation was absolutely stunning. Worth your $$ for sure! My boyfriend got the Golden Mango Shrimp which his mother and friends had raved about the day before. He said it was delicious and he would definitely get it again.I cannot eat gluten and asked the waiter if a dish was breaded. He explained the dish finishing his sentence off with, “which is not gluten free” in a way that felt very comforting like it was not an inconvenience to help me find something safe. You dont get this 90% of the time dining out. Each time an appetizer or my dish came out, he told me it was gluten free (or it wasn’t when he didn’t bring it out) which made me feel safe knowing he kept that in mind throughout our experience. We will definitely be coming back to Tomo. I wish I caught the waiter’s name because he sets a great example.
Mar 30, 2025 · Alyssa DanielleThis was my second time here, and it was just as great as the first. Went around 5:00, and the service was amazing—super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, and the drinks were on point. Our waitress took the time to explain the different types of sushi and gave some great recommendations. We had a lychee martini and a sake martini, both of which were excellent. For food, we went with the steak hibachi and a sushi platter, and everything was cooked and prepared perfectly. The entire square/plaza where Tomo is located feels like a little hidden gem with plenty of parking during the day. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you're in the area.
Mar 26, 2025 · Seth IlzyLovely helpful staff. Fresh, delicious lunch. Good value for the lunch special-soup, fried rice (not at all greasy as some are), protein (I choose tofu and asked if they would fry it lightly) and nice mix of veggies including asparagus, broccoli, baby corn, carrots, onion and red & green peppers.
Apr 15, 2025 · Donna KirdahyGreat atmosphere & great service. However salmon sushi didn’t taste like regular salmon, there was no salmon flavor at all. Not sure what happened there. We were charged 20% tip for a group of 6 of us, 20% is more than the normal of 15-18%. We mostly got hibachi rice with steak but the steak was cubed and tough to chew, I left a good amount of steak to bring home for my dog. The salmon was also dry as hell and small for their hibachi rice with salmon.
Nov 08, 2024 · EvelnaI am NOT the type to write reviews unless it’s for something extraordinary or out right terrible. But having JUST left the restaurant I had felt inclined to write this review.Food:I had gotten the Wasabi Shumai. I had expected something different, which is a fault on myself for having higher expectations, but what I didn’t expect is a shumai I wouldn’t be able to eat without tearing up. It’s not like I am not experienced with wasabi or horseradish, so the fact that I actually started coughing and tearing up while eating it wasn’t pleasant. Pairing that with a peanut based sauce wasn’t what I had planned for flavor pairing either. Which also that sauce was pretty watery. What I suspect is that they mix their wasabi into the steamed wrapper for the shumai, IF they even make that, and into the meat mixture itself. The steaming on the shumai was a bit over but honestly that’s forgivable as everyone makes that mistake.I had also gotten the Salmon Lovers Sushi Entree, which honestly wasn’t the worst. I come from a more rural part of Florida so I’m used to not the best quality sushi sets and all you can eat places. So for me to even be writing this review feels out of character, but the rice wasn’t seasoned well. The nori was chewier than I preferred. The quality of the fish was perfectly acceptable, but even good fish paired with less than subpar rice can not be saved. I had also found some pin bones, but honestly that’s not really a deal breaker for me.Service:Honestly, it was fine service. Would I give it five stars? No. There was nothing that blew me out of my mind, it was just an OK service. Waiter was nice for the few seconds I interacted with them.Atmosphere:I would love to know the size of that kitchen as there seemed to not be that many tables and a full sized bar. It felt both crowded and not at the same time. The decor is cute and Asian inspired, but it really just felt like a leaning towards Japanese decor rather than a cohesive fusion of cultures.
