Torrance Yokocho Reviews
Newly opened during last summer in 2024, Torrance Yokocho is advertised to be the new center/corner of Japanese street food. Online reservation is straightforward. Digital ordering is simple. Cashless payment is convenient. Staff is not the friendliest bunch, but at least they are not rude. The restaurant is clean. Most importantly, food is not cheap and quality is so-so. Nothing really stands out. There are definitely better options for dinner at the same price level in the area.
Mar 21, 2025 · XO HandsomeMake reservations. We didn't and there were no more booths, but were able to sit at the counter. Food was good. Atmosphere was great. Only one thing I'd comment negatively on is that the burdock root chips were insanely oily. Everything else was great. Looking forward to coming back for 50% yakitori + drinks.Update: Came back again for the above mentioned 50% off yakitori. Everything was delicious. Drinks were great too. Dan dan noodles and udon noodles were perfect. Booked via yelp and got a booth this time. Looking forward to spreading the word!
Apr 25, 2025 · Kevin KaoWe thought the food was decent but not outstanding. The pork with bean sprouts had good flavor and was the best "bang for the buck". We ordered the tuna sashimi and it was good but not any better than getting a package at the local Japanese supermarket. The yakitori was also good but I wish the chicken skin could be more crispy, the beef skewer was overcooked a bit. Lastly the ramen wasnt bad but I think the fish powder was a bit too strong.
Mar 23, 2025 · Peter BabidaAuthentic Japanese Izakaya with Private BoothsVisited on a Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. Each table had its own semi-private curtain, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere—perfect for a date night. The food was freshly made, especially the skewers which came out hot and well-seasoned. Even the vegetables were fresh and flavorful—no shortcuts here.I especially enjoyed their shochu high-ball. The lemon flavor was refreshing with just the right kick—highly recommend it!Definitely coming back again.
May 10, 2025 · Jay RueWe loved the vibe so much!! It’s really nice to be greeted with such warm and happy energy! The food was good. The favorites were the pork belly skewer and karage. Sashimi was fresh. The fries were so good crunchy and flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. Ramen was nice, not as bold in flavor, mostly just savory. Dessert was delicious! Everything was tasty overall and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had such a nice experience and definitely planning to return.
