Ujin Introduce
For discerning ramen enthusiasts across California, particularly those in the vibrant San Diego area, the search for truly authentic and exceptional Japanese ramen often leads to a handful of standout establishments. Ujin Ramen, nestled on Towne Centre Drive in La Jolla, is rapidly gaining recognition as a must-visit spot. Patrons consistently rave about its commitment to true Japanese style, delivering flavorful broths, perfectly textured noodles, and some of the best ramen eggs in the city. It's a place that promises and delivers a delicious, deeply satisfying bowl of ramen.
Ujin Ramen differentiates itself by focusing on the nuances that make Japanese ramen an art form. Unlike some ramen shops that aim for overly heavy broths, Ujin is celebrated for its ability to craft light yet incredibly flavorful broths, such as their shio and shoyu ramen, which many find a welcome departure from the more common heavy tonkotsu. This dedication to balance and depth of flavor ensures that each bowl is a culinary journey, leaving you satisfied without feeling overwhelmed.
Beyond the exquisite broth, Ujin pays meticulous attention to every component of their ramen. The noodles are consistently praised for their perfect chewy texture, and the meat, whether it's the tender chashu pork, succulent chicken breast, or the luxurious smoky wagyu beef, is prepared to perfection. Even seemingly small details like the marinated bamboo shoots and, especially, their ramen egg, are highlighted as exceptional. The combination of delicious food, beautiful plating, and a pleasant ambiance makes Ujin a highly recommended spot for anyone seeking a high-quality Japanese dining experience in San Diego.

Ujin Reviews
Absolutely the best ramen egg I have had in San Diego. And they have marinated bamboo shoots, very good. Delicious bowl and gyoza. I actually loved my husband's shoyu bowl a little more than my bowl. I ordered the Tonkotsu bowl. Seating inside and outside. A little pricey, but the quality makes it worth it
Apr 19, 2025 · Christina DLPAbsolutely delicious Ramen! Very authentic true to Japanese style. Both the shio and shoyu Ramen that we ordered were flavorful and had the perfect texture for the meat whether it was the chashu pork, chicken breast in my shoyu or the smoky wagyu beef in the shio ramen my partner got. The noodles were perfectly chewy. The broth was light which I usually crave for and don't prefer tonkatsu which is usually too heavy and makes me feel bloated . Karaage was good too. Everything was plated beautifully and for the taste , ambience (beautiful) and service , this is very good value for money too. Hope the restaurant gets a lot of business. This definitely is my favorite ramen spot from now on. Highly recommended!
Mar 12, 2025 · Urvashi BHonestly, this place deserves more attention. The store put so much effort into running this place. I really enjoy the egg, noodle and pork. The soup is also very flavorful but doesn’t taste salty at all.Thank you for your service and I wish you more success!
Apr 19, 2025 · S DuanReally yummy! The soup isn’t too oily nor salty the way other ramen stores make their soup. Everything tastes good without being over powering. Clean and cute interior.
Mar 31, 2025 · MaryReally good noodle and pork bun. The classic recommended shoyu truffle ramen is flavorful, light, fragrant, and filling with both chicken and pork. The price is affordable. I would recommend this place.
