Umami Tavern - Jefferson Reviews
Just tried it for the first time. We made the mistake of doing takeout first. Plus, they did just open. So I will give another chance. The meal was $55 for two people. Not a big deal if there had been more food and it was prepared properly.I asked for medium rare steak. It was well done. The broccoli tasted like fish. The shrimp was ice cold and the chicken overcooked.I’ll give it another go and update the review. Also, the tree at the front door needs to be moved it was in the way.
May 29, 2025 · Michael LasitterChecked out the new Japanese spot Umami in Jefferson today—one of the few in town. Tried the hibachi and sushi, and everything was super fresh. Even though it’s just a soft opening, the service was great. I’ll definitely be back!
May 25, 2025 · Charlene WuBrand new to Jefferson, visited during the soft opening and super glad we did!! The sushi was fresh and very tasty!
May 23, 2025 · Barry VickeryJefferson location! Came in for a family dinner tonight. We ordered at 6:10. We didn’t start receiving our food until 6:50. It would have been fine if we all got our food at the same time, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. There was 8 of us. But only 6 people ordered full meals due to having 2 kids that could share. And 2 out of the 6 only ordered sushi. So technically, only 4 meals came out of the kitchen. 3 meals came out at 6:50. The sushi came out at 7pm. And the last meal literally had to be tracked down by me. One of our sushi rolls was messed up and I waited 15 minutes for our waiter to come to the table and ended up carrying my plate of sushi to the sushi counter to get it fixed. I spoke with the manager, she was very sweet and kind and helped us a lot. At 7:15 when my husband finally got his dinner, it was still missing the rice. At that point I gave up, we paid and left. The food that we did get was good. But the service was awful. I hope they get all the kinks worked out. We will be back to try it again. One day.
May 30, 2025 · Sarah WilsonI just checked out this new sushi place. The moment that I walked in, I had been seated immediately and I decided to try the tonkotsu ramen. Definitely one of the best ramens I ever had and highly recommend coming here.
