I totally splurged at Yama Loso and it was worth every penny! Started with chicken satay as an appetizer, followed by three different sushi rolls (wish I remembered the names, but they were all excellent). We also got a bottle of sake to go with it, which really elevated the whole experience. For dessert, I went a little adventurous with the matcha passion fruit cake-loved it! It was a bit citrusy for my wife's taste, but I thought it was unique and refreshing. The vibe is great, the food is high-quality, and for what they offer, the pricing feels fair. Plus, they offer valet parking which is a big plus in this area. Definitely a must-visit for sushi and Japanese food lovers in Charlotte!

It was so good I went two days back to back. My servers were two different bartenders and I unfortunately don’t remember their names but both amazing and so friendly! They have a lot of rolls to choose from and each one was fresh and flavorful, and the smaller plates were really good also if you’re not into sushi!

Yama is wonderful! First, please know they offer valet parking so use it! Don’t forget to tip! Second, the food is incredible! The tuna in the H&M Roll melts in your mouth. It’s the best tuna I’ve ever eaten! The teriyaki steak medium rare is amazing! Don’t miss out on trying this! We loved the Brussel Sprouts (get extra glaze to pour on top (the glaze is on the bottom). If you love fish, I also recommend the salmon truffle. The sauce that comes with the calamari is very good. We enjoyed our server, Bella, who was right on point from start to finish! Thank you, Bella! The owner was not there for my recent visit, but he is wonderful! A good guy who knows the importance of quality in food. He also knows many of his customers very well. He wants everyone to have a great experience! We had Lychee Martini’s and they were so good! You won’t be disappointed if you come try Yama LoSo.

The food here was nothing short of spectacular. We had the pleasure of sitting at the sushi bar so we got to see all the sushi plates being made and their presentation. I highly recommend the calamari, pork belly kushiyaki, the duck and tuna tasting. We also had the sea urchin which isn't for the faint of hearts but is an explosion of flavor and an experience to say you tried it once. Oh! And the matcha cheesecake is to die for!
