Yanaga Kappo Izakaya Reviews
The vibes in here were incredible with cool lighting and anime on the TVs. Staff were all super nice and the food came out quickly. I came with a group of 4 and we ordered the chicken yakisoba, tuna tartare, eel roll, 1/2 chicken special (not pictured) maki special (not pictured) and YKI fries (not pictured). The maki special and eel roll were delicious, but the eel roll really didn’t have that much eel in it. The flavors in the chicken yakisoba were incredible — the dish was just a touch oily. Tuna tartare was nothing special and the 1/2 chicken special was too sour — it sort of tasted like Tabasco sauce. Overall the portions were a little small for the price. 3/4 of us left hungry. It might not be a great place to try family style tbh. I’d recommend the yakisoba and the rolls for individual ordering
Mar 21, 2025 · Amber ZhaoWent here for dinner with my siblings and we all LOVED it!! I’ve been looking for a great sushi spot in the neighborhood and yanaga kappa izakaya is THE spot. The sushi was so fresh - Will definitely be going back!
May 31, 2025 · Arianna FlynnI had high hopes for this new spot in the area since I love exploring sushi places, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The food was mediocre at best, and nothing stood out as worth the price. Our six-oyster platter was presented nicely, but one oyster looked mangled and unappealing. ( bottom right oyster in my photo) The sushi rolls were just okay—the rainbow roll had very thin sashimi slices on top & the roll only had imitation crab, which was unexpected. Yanaga is great if you’re looking for Japanese inspired cuisine. Look elsewhere if you’re looking for something more elevated than AYCE quality sashimi. On the bright side, my partner and I really enjoyed our drinks!
