Amazing experience here and super affordable 15 course option! Our chef, Owen, was very friendly and welcoming. The fish was fresh and high quality. My favorite pieces were the king salmon and toro with caviar. Everything was delicious! Will definitely be coming back here :)
May 09 · Jessie YLet me start off by saying that the service here is quick, friendly, and attuned, so service is deserving of 5 stars. Yokox also looks aesthetically pleasing and is spaced nicely between bar and tables, so ambiance is also deserving of 5 stars.The food, which is the most important part, was unfortunately underwhelming. I know a lot of diners are excited for its reasonable price tag at $89 for 15 courses before taxes and tips (which is approximately $110 when said and done). The appetizer selections all underperformed, especially the oyster, which wasn't all that fresh, and the salmon which was overpowered by the intense oil infused soy sauce. They also unfortunately no longer served the crab leg appetizer, which was a bummer and perhaps it could've enhanced the dining experience by a small margin.The majority of the sushi pieces were white fish and the condiments that accompanied each piece were light and mild at best, which didn't help bring out the sweetness and freshness of the fish. Their selection was also underwhelming, with the highlights being only the sea urchin, salmon belly, and scallop, which were all good but small in size as evident in the pictures compared to the ginger (the premium pieces were small in size and the less popular pieces were regular in size). The final piece was basically a regular unagi piece wrapped with a piece of seaweed, which is extremely disappointing when the majority of omakase serve the last piece as a full size hand roll. They didn't have any premium combo pieces like uni and scallop, nor did they serve any pieces of botan ebi or wagyu, which a lot of other under-$100 omakase serves.Thus, the under seasoning, the lack of premium selection, lack of exciting appetizer selections, and the small portion sizes made this unfortunately one of the more underwhelming omakase experiences I had for less than $100; the overall experience was perhaps more fitting at the $50 price tag, but that's just my opinion. NYC has become saturated with so many affordable omakase restaurants, that unfortunately Yokox is not one that I would recommend.The servers were really nice and friendly, but the quality of the food leaves so much more to be desired, which makes this review painful to write since I really wanted Yokox to do well given its exemplary service and beautiful design.Thank you for reading and best of luck (:
December 31 · J WTHE VALUE! A wonderful assortment for the omakase that is done earnestly and makes it more affordable to all. Definitely make reservations in advanced since seating is limited. The vibe is pretty modern and clean too. I really enjoyed watching the Chefs crafting each roll. It’s definitely a diamond in the rough type of place and really hope them much more success to come!

Atmosphere was perfect for an anniversary dinner: chill, intimate, and classy in a simple way. They brought us a piece of cheesecake after the 15 courses, which was really sweet. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in my life!
