Yummy Sushi - All You Can Eat in Coronado stands out with several key features and highlights that make it a notable destination for sushi lovers in California.
Spectacular Ocean Views: The most acclaimed feature is undoubtedly its location. Situated across from the Hotel del Coronado, the restaurant offers "post-card perfect views" of the water, beach, and sunset. Dining with this backdrop creates an unparalleled ambiance that is a "feast for the eyes and soul," as one customer eloquently put it.
All-You-Can-Eat Concept: For those with a large appetite or who enjoy sampling a wide variety of dishes, the "all-you-can-eat" model is a major draw. It provides an opportunity to try numerous rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and appetizers for a fixed price, offering great value for extensive dining, especially with their "premium menu" options including A5 Wagyu and lobster.
Fresh and High-Quality Ingredients: Despite some critiques on service pacing, the quality of the ingredients themselves receives high praise. Reviewers consistently mention the "freshness" of the sushi, with "bluefin sashimi" being "exceptional—silky, rich, and fresh." The Nigiri is noted for "generous portions of fish that were fresh and tender." This focus on quality is crucial for a positive sushi experience.
Diverse and Extensive Menu: Yummy Sushi offers a truly comprehensive Japanese menu beyond just basic rolls. From a vast array of specialty rolls like the "Yellowtail special Roll" and "Hotel Del Coronado Roll" to excellent sashimi, nigiri, tempura, gyoza, and even ramen and teriyaki entrees, there's "something for everyone." Yummy Sushi - All You Can Eat primarily positions its "All-You-Can-Eat" (AYCE) model as its core offering and promotion, providing a fixed-price opportunity to indulge in a wide variety of Japanese dishes. However, they also delineate different tiers to cater to various preferences and budgets:
Standard All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE): This is their main offering, priced at $45 per adult and $24 for kids (4-12 years old). This package includes a vast selection of appetizers, rolls (including specialty rolls), nigiri, and some sashimi. This is a fantastic deal for those who want to try many different items without worrying about the bill adding up.
Premium All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE): For an elevated experience, Yummy Sushi offers a "Premium AYCE" for $89. This includes everything from the regular AYCE menu, plus access to top-tier ingredients like A5 Wagyu, Uni, Bluefin Tuna Belly, Yellowtail Belly, Salmon Belly, Lobster Claw or Meat, Hon Maguro Toro Prime Handrolls, and Truffle Amaebi. This is a significant draw for discerning diners seeking the finest ingredients.
A La Carte Ordering: While the AYCE is a strong focus, the option to order a la carte for individual dishes means customers aren't forced into the AYCE model if they only want a few specific items. This provides flexibility and could be seen as a "promotion" for those with smaller appetites.
Lunch Specials (Potential): While not explicitly detailed in all provided information, many AYCE sushi restaurants offer different pricing tiers for lunch versus dinner, often with a slightly lower price for lunch. It is always a good idea to check their official website or call to confirm current lunch specials, as these can provide excellent value.
It's important to note that for the AYCE, "If one patron orders AYCE, then the rest of the table must order AYCE," a common policy to prevent sharing. For the most current and specific details on their AYCE offerings, pricing, and any other promotions, checking their official website or contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

Yummy Sushi - All You Can Eat Reviews
Yummy Sushi – A Feast of Views, Not of ServiceCoronado, San DiegoIn one of the most picturesque corners of Coronado, Yummy Sushi greets you with postcard-perfect views and the promise of an “all-you-can-eat” sushi experience that sounds almost too good to be true. As it turns out, it kind of is.The evening began with high hopes. The location alone deserves applause—a sweeping view of the water that makes even the gloomiest days seem serene. But for all its charm, this restaurant’s allure fades once you get past the scenery. To be fair, there were glimmers of potential. The bluefin sashimi was exceptional—silky, rich, and fresh enough to momentarily whisk me away from the flaws of the experience. But even the best dishes can’t save a meal bogged down by sluggish service. And slow doesn’t begin to cover it.For an all-you-can-eat setup, the pacing was downright painful. On average, plates emerged from the kitchen after a 15-minute wait, with the longest stretch—yes, I timed it—clocking in at a head-scratching 32 minutes for a simple order of sashimi. And, lest you think I exaggerate, an avocado roll took a full 40 minutes to arrive. Avocado. No, thank you.The wait was compounded by confusion. Over the course of the evening, two different servers attended to our table. A small detail, perhaps, but no one informed us about the change, leaving us unsure of who to flag down—or if anyone even remembered our orders. By the time the food arrived, the frustration had effectively killed my appetite.Credit where it’s due: the music was cool—eclectic and upbeat enough to keep the room lively. And yes, this place was busy, which might excuse some of the delays. But there’s a line between “busy” and “unprepared,” and Yummy Sushi teetered perilously close to the latter. The harsh truth? A restaurant’s charm and location can only carry it so far. The food, while occasionally good, was not worth the price or the wait. The service—well-meaning but chaotic—left much to be desired.Would I return? For the view, perhaps. For the sushi, no. Yummy Sushi may be sitting on prime real estate, but if it wants to truly captivate diners, it needs to speed up the kitchen, tighten up the service, and match the quality of its location with an experience worth savoring.
Jan 09, 2025 · SC PhotographyHaving been planning a trip here for over 1 year, I was seriously blown away. Yummy Sushi on Coronado Island across from Hotel Del Coronado was amazing. The food was a feast for the eyes and soul. Each dish we were served was handcrafted amazing fare. Everything from the opening appetizers to the Nigiri, Handrolls, and specialties, there were no disappointments. My favorites of the evening were the Yellowtail special Roll, the Bluefin Tuna Nigiri and Albacore Nigiri, and Spicy Yellowtail Spicy Sashimi The Gyoza are a treat you must try, and the Tempura offerings were delicate and delicious. Definite 10/10 experience, the staff helpful and very responsive. Highly recommend. I can not wait to return for the special premium menu with A5 wagu beef. Lobster tail and claw among their top shelf offerings. And the ambiance of the windows at sunset overlooking ocean and beach...no words....
Jan 16, 2025 · Charles Owens (Grail)Food was mediocre, service was alright. Wouldn’t recommend. Crunchy roll somewhat saved it. Sent back one of my dishes, second time around was still “not tasty”. I’d take my money elsewhere with all due respect.
May 27, 2025 · C E EWe really want to love Yummy Sushi. We are fairly regular diners there and every now and then we get our large family in for meal together. This last visit was for a group of 18 - we made reservation a week prior and asked if their AC was finally fixed (the area at the front of restaurant had been out for years) as this would have determined whether or not we go. They said yes it was fixed but when we got there it was hot and it was off. Fortunately as the sun set it kicked in and we could dine in peace for the second half of our visit. The food was delicious. We all had the AYCE menu and the dishes were good. Timing was a bit rough - sometimes things came out super fast and other times we waited 15-20 minutes in between. We know large groups are a challenge but I wish they were a bit better prepared. We were assigned one server split up by three tables - perhaps one server per table to keep the flow of information (orders) and accountability for service would help. We got scolded for asking a different server about our order - apparently that caused confusion and some items may have been ordered twice.Quality of the food was good but the value was excellent. We will probably go back but will think twice before going as a large group again.
Jul 08, 2024 · Joyce BertulfoWe went on an early Sunday afternoon. There were plenty of street parkings available. The view you pass by to enter the restaurant is divine. We took a stroll after the meal to digest our food and the sunset was beautiful to watch. They are located on the second floor and we were two families with children and their strollers, so it ended up being a bit of a challenge to carry the strollers up to the second floor. ( maybe there is wheelchair access we missed, if so, do let me know because we will be returning)All of their raw sushis tasted fresh and delicious, the presentation was beautiful, the cooked one are mediocre, but the baked ones were really well made, they will be my go to. ( I had my hands full with my babies to take pictures to justify the looks of them but we ordered most of them just to try on our first visit and this is my honest conclusion of all the different sushi types)Orders do come slow for all youCan eat, but I don’t consider that too bad of a thing since we weren’t rushing to go anywhere and we weren’t already hangry when we got there. If you came without eating anything all day the wait might get to your nerves. They have high chairs, kids playbooks, changing tables which are important for families like ours with small children to accommodate. Our server missed our order twice but she did apologize and put two of our soda drinks on the house so I am not mad at that.Overall, definitely going back for more sushi and highly recommend you to try.
