- Insanely Fresh and High-Quality Sashimi/Fish: This is the cornerstone of Yuubi Sushi's reputation. Customers consistently rave about the "insanely fresh and very high quality" sashimi, highlighting specific items like "uni, tuna, scallops, or sweet shrimp." The dedication to sourcing the best ingredients is palpable, with fish that "melts in your mouth, and bursts with ocean flavor." The emphasis on "authentic sushi" implies a focus on traditional preparation that highlights the inherent quality of the fish, rather than masking it with excessive sauces or unconventional ingredients. Their menu also features "Dried Aged Ora King Salmon from New Zealand" and "Dried aged Japanese Bluefin Tuna," indicating a meticulous approach to fish preparation for optimal flavor and texture.
- Masterful Presentation: Beyond the taste, the visual appeal of the dishes at Yuubi Sushi is a significant draw. Reviewers note that the "presentation is far better than nearly all of the restaurants in PDX," and that it makes your "mouth water the second you see it." This attention to detail transforms each plate into a work of art, enhancing the overall dining experience.
- Exceptional Hand Rolls: The hand rolls receive specific accolades for being "well balanced and proportionate." The "salmon skin hand roll was exceptional," indicating a careful balance of ingredients and textures that result in a truly satisfying bite. Other hand rolls on their menu include Spicy Tuna, Unagi, Tuna, California, and various tempura options.
- Chef's Dedication and Commitment to Quality: Customers explicitly recognize the "chef’s dedication and commitment to quality" in every slice. This personal touch and passion for the craft are evident in the precise cutting of each piece of sashimi and the overall execution of the dishes, making for a truly memorable culinary experience.
- Outstanding Service: The service is consistently described as "truly outstanding," and "attentive and polite." This high level of customer care contributes significantly to the positive dining atmosphere and makes patrons feel valued and well-attended to throughout their visit.
- Authentic Sushi Focus: While the selection of fish might be "somewhat limited" compared to places with massive, generic menus, this is often a hallmark of authentic sushi establishments that prioritize quality over quantity, focusing on a curated selection of the freshest and best seasonal fish. Their offerings of traditional Nigiri and Sashimi options like Hon Maguro (Bluefin Tuna), Hotate (Scallop), and Sake (Salmon) reinforce this commitment to authenticity.
---
While the provided customer reviews do not explicitly mention ongoing promotions or special offers at Yuubi Sushi, high-end, quality-focused sushi restaurants like Yuubi often highlight seasonal specialties, chef's tasting menus (Omakase), or specific fresh catches that serve as their "specials." Their online menu lists "Chef Set" options like "Omakase Sashimi" and "Omakase Nigiri," which are curated selections of the chef's recommended seasonal fish. These are akin to special offers for those seeking a premium and diverse tasting experience. Yuubi Sushi Reviews
Such a great spot for authentic sushi. The service was truly outstanding. The selection of fish is somewhat limited but the quality is very good. Presentation is far better than nearly all of the restaurants in PDX. Hand roll ingredients were well balanced and proportionate… the salmon skin hand roll was exceptional.
April 25 · QuietBarkI drove all the way from Seattle to Portland just for this sashimi—totally worth it! Their sashimi is insanely fresh and very high quality, every slice is cut just right, and you can really taste the chef’s dedication and commitment to quality. Whether it’s the uni, tuna, scallops, or sweet shrimp, every bite is mind-blowing, melts in your mouth, and bursts with ocean flavor. It’s not just about the ingredients here, the presentation is on point too, making your mouth water the second you see it. If you’re a raw foodie like me, this place is a must-try. Can’t wait to go back!🍣🥢
May 13 · Anna LeeI randomly popped in for a solo sushi dinner and was blown away! As a solo diner, I got seated right away at the sushi bar (which felt lucky, since it sounds like there’s typically a wait) but after the dining experience, I gladly would have waited! The service was exceptional and the chef’s know what they’re doing with the sushi — everything was phenomenal —my only complaint was that I wish I had a second stomach so I could have tried more of the menu! I got a few hand rolls, spicy tuna inari (incredible) and special salmon nigiri — the sushi rice was already seasoned, so no soy sauce necessary. The quality of the fish was excellent — best I’ve had in ages.Thank you for a wonderful experience, I can’t wait to come back!
March 01 · Emilia JohnstonUnrivaled quality cuts of fish.My only "complaint" is they make and deliver the sushi so fast after ordering through phone that table is overwhelmed and you eat faster than expected. My advice is to order only a few dishes at a time.
January 26 · Mike JacksonA Hidden Gem for Sushi Lovers! This was my first visit to the Portland area, and I was really hoping to find some fresh seafood. After searching around Beaverton and Hillsboro without much luck, I finally came across Yuubi Sushi—and I’m so glad I did! When we arrived, I noticed the restaurant was on the smaller side, with only three or four parking spaces on the side. Luckily, there was additional street parking just a few steps away. Inside, it’s a cozy and immaculately clean spot with just nine tables and two sushi rollers working behind the counter. We got there around 5:30, and aside from one other couple, we had the place almost to ourselves. The service was fantastic—two young women with big smiles, wonderful attitudes, and top-notch professionalism. They were polite, helpful, and honestly, just fun to interact with. Right away, they made sure we had everything we needed and even customized all of our rolls with soy paper instead of nori for my dining companion. Now, let’s talk about the food—because it was next-level:• Hon Maguro (Dry-Aged Japanese Bluefin Tuna) – Insanely fresh, melt-in-your-mouth, and just high-quality perfection.• Hamachi (Yellowtail from Japan) – Excellent. Two pieces for $20, and worth every penny.• Crazy Boss Roll – A beer-battered tempura shrimp roll topped with spicy tuna, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. Fantastic.• Spidey Roll – Another tempura-battered roll, this time with soft-shell crab. Absolutely delicious.• Miso Soup – Perfectly comforting on a cold evening.• Truffle Tuna Roll – I don’t remember the exact name, but wow—fresh, flavorful, and an absolute must-try.Overall, this was an amazing experience. I’d absolutely bring my group of chefs here for the super fresh tuna and incredible service. Yuubi Sushi is truly a hidden gem, and it makes me wish I was a local!5/5 – Highly recommend!
