Zen Asian Sushi Bar & Grill Reviews
Had the whole grilled squid and the I love you and I miss you rolls. My partner got the panangi Thai curry with filet mignon. The taste balance was perfect with my purple hazeini drink. This is the closest you'll get to being in Japan while at home or visiting the area. I hope to come back.
Apr 19, 2025 · Julie HaasWe came during happy hour and let me say the portion sizes are LARGE! We ended up having the tempura chicken and shrimp, lettuce wraps which were all on the happy hour menu. We did also order from the menu and got sesame chicken, and honey walnut chicken. Even if you stay with just the happy hour menu you'll definitely get full. The honey walnut chicken wasn't what I expected (maybe cause I was comparing it to panda express honey walnut shrimp and this dish lacked sweetness which was on me for comparing the two) but it was still good and I loved the mushrooms. A great eatery spot if you're doing some shopping at northfield.
Mar 27, 2025 · Ashanti Johnson (RedQueen)BEWAREThe service is actually insane ! I called 1 hour before they closed and the dude on the phone is like, “you know we close at 10pm right?” And I’m like um okay? So if the food not gonna be ready before 10? (Mind you this is a whole hour before they closed.) he’s like “yes it will I’m just saying .” Okay I placed an order of shrimp Basil Fried Rice and asked for it to be spicy, and I ordered a pad Thai with chicken and NO PEANUTS! He repeated the order back to me and he said it correctly okay cool! He we pull up and my man goes in and hands hands him a $100 because he didn’t have change or his card and after already getting giving him the money my boyfriend asked him how much the order was because he only got $50 back. The cashier said “I don’t know.” And then we asked for a receipt and he’s like “we don’t have receipts for cash transactions” so I’m like so how did you know how much to charge us? He’s talking about he don’t know. Okay whatever we leave annoyed but just happy we got the food. We get all the way home and my boyfriend takes a bite of his food and there is peanuts in the pad Thai. Now we have to spend the rest of the night at the urgent care because my friend is allergic to peanuts !!! So I will be calling the restaurant tomorrow to file a complaint because not only did he finessed us out of an extra $20 but he didnt even place the order he repeated back to me! This is not okay!! They are closed now but tomorrow you will be dealt with!!
May 02, 2025 · Faith CordovaWonderful sushi rolls and fantastic service. Good selection of saki. Great place to go if you’re in the Central Park area.
May 15, 2025 · EJWIt was a nice experience but not AMAZING. It is a good option for a decent meal before a movie. We had Miso Soup(good)and their version of Tom Kha Kai(not good) it was way too salty and had a different flavor than we are used to(my wife gets it everywhere we go). The Sushi roll was good and Sashimi was as well. I had The General Lee's(Tso's) chicken with fried rice and it was pretty good, I would order it again. Our service was very attentive, the timing was good and he was very nice as was the manager that helped us towards the end.Overall, I would recommend it if you're in the area and want a different option than just a burger and fries.
