Gokumi Ramen & Yakitori Reviews
Great Izakaya off of 55 x 405; Just 2 exits from John Wayne airport! Reserved on Yelp and was seated right away on a busy Friday night. It’s a small restaurant with a nice bar facing the skewer grill area. LOTS of choices from Yakitori (meat skewers), hand rolls, ramen, karaage, crunch roll, elote tempura (!), chicken skin and the list goes on… plus a whole lot of wines and soju available. We ordered a lot of skewers: all well-seasoned/ marinated. We shared a good size spicy tonkotsu ramen, broth is delicious and the kick is just right. They charge extra 75cents for every add-on (corn, mushroom, green onion, etc). Scallop/ salmon hand rolls start at $10 and specialty rolls start at $16.Service is fast and friendly. We’ll be happy to return to try the other items on the menu.More food/travel on IG: @i_therefore_conclude
May 13, 2025 · Maria VeeI ordered ramen. It looks good but there was not much noodle or soup inside. The atmosphere is fancy though.
May 16, 2025 · OwOWe visited Gokumi Ramen for our first izakaya and yakitori experience, and it was a unique treat! It’s like a flavorful mashed of east tradition and small plate dining experience. We started with the Black Truffle Ramen and Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, and let me tell you, that broth was pure magic! But the yakitori experience stole the show - watching the chef grill fresh skewers while we enjoyed sake and appetizers was pure entertainment! Speaking of sake, their selection is top-notch. We enjoyed a glass of Cuvee Mosaic and Muryozan Junmai Ginjo, paired perfectly with Salmon Caviar Carpaccio and Crispy Tuna. The cozy atmosphere, filled with friendly faces and lively chatter, made us feel right at home. In short, a fantastic experience that left us craving more!
Jun 27, 2024 · Shaghayegh KazemiExcellent spot with a modernized Japanese vibe. The menu is wide-ranging, so I settled on the chicken hearts and spicy tonkatsu ramen—both were exceptional.Hospitality is great. Staff was friendly and attentive.Seems like the spot gets busy, so book a reservation or get on the wait list at the door.Highly recommended.
Oct 13, 2024 · Andrew SaligaIt was so fun! We loved their sake selection. Yakitoru was good. It's a small place so you can hear everyone's conversation. If you don't mind that, it's a great place to have fun with your company!
