Otoro Sushi in Irvine primarily focuses on delivering a premium, high-quality dining experience, which means traditional "promotions" or "discounts" are less common compared to more casual restaurants. Their value proposition lies in the exceptional quality of ingredients and the masterful culinary artistry. However, there are aspects that can be considered "offers" in the context of their unique service model:
-
Tiered Omakase Options: While not a discount, the availability of different omakase tiers (e.g., Nigiri Omakase, Standard Omakase, and the Chef's Special Omakase) allows guests to select an experience that aligns with their desired level of indulgence and budget. This provides flexibility within their high-end offerings.
-
Lunch Specials: Otoro Sushi offers lunch specials that can be a more accessible way to experience their high-quality sushi and chirashi bowls. These lunch menus often provide excellent value, making the exceptional quality of their fish available at a relatively lower price point than dinner or full omakase experiences.
-
Pre-Order Only Chef’s Special Omakase: While premium in price, the Chef's Special Omakase at $300-$500 per person (minimum 2 guests) is presented as an exclusive, curated "offer" for an unparalleled culinary journey. The value here is in the access to rare ingredients and a meticulously designed, unforgettable multi-course meal that requires special preparation.
-
Seasonal and Rare Ingredient Showcases: Otoro Sushi's commitment to sourcing the freshest and often rare seasonal ingredients is a continuous "special offer" to its discerning clientele. The menu frequently evolves to highlight peak-season fish and unique delicacies like live uni from Hokkaido or specific cuts of A5 Wagyu, providing a constantly fresh and exciting experience for repeat visitors.
-
Reservations for Exclusive Experiences: For the higher-tier omakase, reservations are often required and should be made well in advance. While not a promotion, securing a spot for these sought-after experiences can be seen as an exclusive opportunity for those seeking the very best.
Given the restaurant's focus on luxury and exceptional quality, direct monetary discounts are rare. The value is instead found in the unparalleled dining experience and the caliber of ingredients offered.

Otoro Sushi Reviews
The sushi is phenomenal!!!the wait time, not so much!! The prices, definitely more than your typical sushi restaurant. The quality is great but if you factor in the wait time, the price and the service that feels rushed, I’m not sure it is worth it!I went there for lunch time, and asked for a table. Was told there’s a 30 min wait, which I agreed to. Didn’t want to sit at the bar as the menu is limited.50 min later I was seated (this was on a weekday lunch nonetheless). Ordered the lunch special, a chirachi bowl and few sushi items! The food was of excellent quality . 1 whole roll was missing from the lunch special was missing and only found out when the check was brought in and realized there was a missing roll.Overall the good food quality might not outweigh the long way and exorbitant prices !In an area when you have infinite options, not sure I’ll be back!I’m scared tot think what dinner might be like!Go at your own risk.

Apr 24, 2025 · Y TAmazing service, outstanding food and nice atmosphere. The best sushi I’ve ever had was at otoro and I go at least twice a week. The staff are so kind and eager to help. Highly recommend.
Apr 06, 2025 · judy AltuwaijriWorth every penny. We got one of the omakase menus and every bite was nothing short of the perfection. I don’t think an omakase or a sushi restaurant has ever had me leaving so full. All of their seafood is so fresh. Their wagyu fried rice is also the best I have ever had. It is very expensive to come here so I usually only go once a year.
Mar 25, 2025 · Jenna LPretty tasty stuff and very fresh. But we were surprised that the sashimi orders come we with only two pieces. Which explains why it's the same price as the sushi. Also they were out of an item that the menu says "limited availability" however we arrived right when they opened and even lined up out front. How is it fair they came to get our orders last. Other than that pretty good.
