Arashi Ramen Introduce
Arashi Ramen, located at 17045 Southcenter Pkwy, Tukwila, WA 98188, offers a taste of authentic Japanese ramen and other beloved dishes to the local community. Operating within the "Doctor Near Me" platform category, which facilitates easy access to local services and products, Arashi Ramen serves as a convenient and appealing option for those seeking a satisfying Japanese meal. The restaurant can be contacted via phone at (253) 220-8722 or mobile at +1 253-220-8722.
The ambiance at Arashi Ramen is described as basic but decent, providing a casual and comfortable dining atmosphere. It's nestled in a strip mall, but don't let the exterior deter you, as the interior offers a minimalist yet stylish Japanese aesthetic. The walls often feature textures reminiscent of raked Zen stone gardens, and sometimes a chalkboard will explain the chef's dedication to crafting their signature tonkotsu broth, simmered for many hours. While the space may be on the smaller side at some locations, it’s designed to be functional and welcoming for diners.
The restaurant generally has a good amount of tables, making it suitable for various party sizes. For those driving, easy parking is a significant advantage, particularly being situated near the Southcenter Mall area. This accessibility enhances the overall convenience for customers planning a visit. The environment aims to be a straightforward and clean place to enjoy a hearty bowl of ramen.
Arashi Ramen is noted for its quick service, ensuring that food is brought out promptly to diners. This efficiency is a definite plus for those looking for a fast and satisfying meal. However, customer experiences with the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff appear to be varied, with some reviews indicating that service can occasionally be less than stellar. While the speed of food delivery is consistent, the level of customer engagement from staff might fluctuate.
In addition to dine-in service, Arashi Ramen also provides options for takeout and delivery, catering to customers who prefer to enjoy their meals outside the restaurant. These services are often facilitated through popular food delivery platforms, making it simple for users to order their favorite ramen and appetizers from the comfort of their homes or offices. It's recommended to check online ordering platforms for the most current delivery and takeout options.
Arashi Ramen's primary feature is its dedication to authentic Japanese ramen, with a strong emphasis on its tonkotsu (pork bone) broth. This signature broth is handcrafted by a master chef, typically simmered for 16 hours or more to achieve its rich and flavorful profile. While the tonkotsu salt (shio) broth has been described as occasionally bland by some, the menu offers a variety of broth bases to explore, including:
- Shio (Salt-based): A classic, often lighter, broth.
- Shoyu (Soy sauce-based): Offering a deeper, savory flavor.
- Miso (Miso-based): Known for its rich, complex, and often thicker texture.
- Spicy Miso: A popular choice for those who enjoy a kick, often described as delicious with tender meat and perfectly complementing noodles.
- Black Garlic: A highly popular and distinctive option featuring black garlic oil, which adds a subtle yet tasty depth.
- TanTan Men / Spicy TanTan Men: Characterized by a sesame paste base and seasoned ground pork, with a spicy version available.
- Creamy Veggie: A dedicated vegetarian option with a vegetable broth and tofu.
The restaurant also offers several noodle options, allowing for customization. While some customers have noted that the noodles might sometimes resemble store-bought varieties in texture or consistency, others have praised them as "perfect compliments" to the broth. The ramen bowls typically include pork belly chashu (sliced pork), seasoned soft-boiled egg, bean sprouts, and green onion. While the chashu has occasionally been described as thin or prone to falling apart, its tenderness is generally appreciated. The soft-boiled eggs, in particular, often receive high praise.
Beyond ramen, Arashi Ramen offers a selection of appetizers and rice bowls:
- Gyoza: Pan-fried pork and chicken potstickers, generally well-received.
- Karaage: Japanese style fried chicken, including a popular Honey Garlic Karaage which is frequently highlighted as "super delicious" with tender and juicy meat. A vegan honey garlic karaage option is also available.
- Edamame: Boiled soybeans with salt.
- Takoyaki: Octopus balls.
- Curry Rice Bowl: Described as "really tasty with just the right amount of spice."
- Chashu Bowl: Rice with marinated chopped chashu.
- Honey Bowl: Rice with honey garlic fried chicken and mixed vegetables.
- Soboro Bowl: Rice with sweet ground pork and egg.
While some customers have found the pricing to be a bit on the higher side, many consider it reasonable for the quality and portion sizes offered. The inclusion of vegan options, such as the Creamy Veggie ramen and Vegan Honey Garlic Karaage, also showcases their effort to cater to diverse dietary needs.
As a key offering within the "Doctor Near Me" category, Arashi Ramen aims to be a readily accessible and frequently visited establishment for locals. While specific, ongoing promotional deals were not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, the strong positive feedback on specific dishes like the Spicy Miso Ramen and Honey Garlic Karaage serves as organic promotion. The restaurant's consistent quality in these popular items encourages repeat visits, with customers stating it’s "100% a place I will come back to repeatedly."
They are typically open every day except Monday, from 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM, providing ample dining hours for both lunch and dinner. For the most current information on special offers, seasonal menus, or any loyalty programs, it is advisable to check their official website or inquire directly by phone. Arashi Ramen Reviews
The food was decent. The tonkatsu salt broth was a little bland. Next time I will get soy sauce flavor. The gyōzas were good. The karage had a good flavor but the chicken was pretty chewy. The curry rice bowl was really tasty with just the right amount of spice. We were disappointed that we got a can of soda with no free refills. The reason for one less star is because the service wasn't great. She wasn't friendly and we spoke Japanese and she didn't know what we said and pronounced the name of the restaurant incorrectly. Maybe it's just us but if you work at a Japanese restaurant, you should, at least, pronounce the words right.Decent tasting food, although a bit pricey. If you don't mind spending more for less, this is a good place to eat.
May 16 · EeviePAn amazing ramen place. We started off with Edamame and karage chicken. Edamame was good but the honey garlic karage chicken was super delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. Now coming to Ramen. We tried the Spicy Miso and Vegan Ramen. Both were delicious. Especially the spicy miso. The meat was super tender and the noodles were a perfect compliment. The service is quick. The ambience is basic but decent.100% a place I will come back to repeatedly.
October 07 · AkshayAnother re-visit (2023-11). Unfortunately their service is really going down the hill. There’s no greeting, no courtesy, no gesture of appreciation, and of course no smiles. I have to downgrade this restaurant because of their service attitude.Excellent ramen broth! Has such rich flavors in every sip. The half-egg was done to perfection. Texture of the pork belly slice melts in your mouth. Also love the Japanese fried chicken. Very crispy crust with tender juicy meat inside.Presentation was very good too.Dining room has small tables with pretty tight space to your neighbor diners - like a typical Japanese restaurant.Service was attentive and efficient. Although could be more cheerful.Re-visited this place. The food quality is very consistent. Although the service is shy of the Japanese culture standards.Re-visit 5/2024. Same comments as last visit. Ramen is one of the best. They could score perfect if service is improved.
May 22 · C HHello! The Trekking Pawns here! Had time before having to go to the airport, so had lunch here and it was fantastic!! Very comparable to ramen we’ve had in Japan! The broth was so flavorful that I drank all of it. Left nothing behind. If you like spice, they do it very well! (There is also a veg option with veg broth.) We got the spicy miso tonkotsu and a Rashi ramen. So yummy!
September 11 · Trekking PawnsI have been here dozens of times and it is always amazing. My husband and I are huge ramen fans and this place is hands down the best. I’ve had almost every type of ramen they have, but my go-to is the spicy tantanmen. You really can’t go wrong no matter what you pick. Also, the karaage is perfection. Always so fresh, with the perfect crispy outside and juicy tender chicken inside. They have a honey garlic version as well, but it does not need extra flavor so we usually get plain! It is a small restaurant and if it’s full it can feel a bit cramped. They get the food out to you very quickly so it’s not bad at all. But if you’d rather do takeout, the packaging is great with the noodles and the broth packed separately so nothing gets soggy.Overall, if you haven’t been here come ASAP-it will be your new fave. We don’t live close but it is well worth the drive.
