As a sushi connoisseur I definitely recommend this Birmingham Sushi Cafe. The service was impeccable. Multiple wait staff will all pitch in as they're walking by to the top off waters or ask if we need anything else. We were there on a busy Friday night and didn't have to wait for anything. The food tasted 4.5 out of 5 stars. We'll certainly be back.

There was a hair in my house salad. The sushi tasted pretty decent, but I’ve had better. For my party of 4, we were also automatically charged an 18% tip - which to me is tacky. (I also wonder if this is done for every customer, or only done for those of a certain demographic, if you know what I mean) We are not a large party. Therefore, it should be up to the customer about how much to tip. I always tip and tip well. But being forced to tip a certain amount (especially for service that wasn’t even exceptional) isn’t really best practice — especially if it’s not communicated beforehand.

Birmingham Sushi Cafe is a wonderful Japanese restaurant with so many options - including a half page of vegetarian rolls! I would highly recommend the Jalapeno Roll for vegetarians. It was just the right amount of spice and tasted fresh! The edamame was good, although I wish it was flavored as I am used to. The vegetable tempura was delicious! It did seem to get busy on a Thursday night so I would recommend making a reservation.

It was a birthday party and we got enough sushi to feed a village. They’ve some fantastic sushi rolls. You def have to try “Angry Mikey”. Other good stuff we got was Crispy Calamari and sake.PS: It’s not on their menu.
