Mar 31, 2025 · Jenny XuHoney, let me tell you about this little Japanese jewel box tucked away in the Mission! Bon Nene is serving FACE with their katsu curry - that chicken was breaded for the GODS, and the curry sauce? Thicker than my contour! The mentaiko pasta might not be revolutionary, but she's honest work, mama - topped with that seaweed confetti like she's ready for the ball! The ambiance is giving intimate dinner date realness - all warm woods, mood lighting, and those dramatic front windows serving storefront theater with the city lights behind you. Not every queen needs to be doing death drops and reveals - sometimes you just need that reliable sister who shows up, does her job, and makes you feel at home. The wait staff was sweet as pie, but next time I'm bringing my non-seafood eating judy, we're gonna need to get creative with that menu, okurrr? Still, for a quiet night out in the neighborhood when you don't want to march through the Valencia Street crowds, she's your girl! Four stars for being that dependable diva next door! *tongue pop*
Apr 30, 2025 · JWent there during the weekend. The environment is very homey and cozy. Unfortunately they don’t have the Hokkaido cheese cake that day 🥲 the food were nice and served fast. I would suggest sharing :) My only complaint is about the service. We were ignored many times when we were waiting outside to get seated (the server promised to seat us in 2 min but it was 10+ min). We were ignored more when we try to place the order and when we want the check to go. It seems like the staff training is lacking and the servers are very overwhelmed.
Nov 14, 2024 · Hilda LiuService and atmosphere are great, I like the vibe of this small restaurant. The food quality was good as well, especially for the price. My favorite was the Japanese curry. The gyudon what is the most unique flavors, but the tuna bowl was solid as well and had a lot of rice to fill you up.Overall, great for a casual night out at a very reasonable price.
Sep 28, 2024 · David LiuItadakimasu! Boy oh boy was this place amazing. Cozy vibe with Japanese comfort food to set the mood. The lunch set had everything I could’ve asked for in a meal. Greens, proteins, and some carbs to round out the meal. Spoiled myself with the royal milk tea iced and it did not disappoint. After a night out like yesterday, this was a much needed part of the recovery. Light 9.
