Chaplin's Restaurant Reviews
Stopped in for early dinner after long day at conference. Was seated immediately on patio, that is very nice. Happy hour pricing on drinks, not food. Not sure if they have happy hour pricing on food for bar seating. Was set on the Payday dumplings based on reviews I had seen and because it looked so unique. Took recommendation of server and ordered the A.S.S. Maze with bok choy and corn.Payday dumplings were very interesting, especially with the table side injection of sauce. Flavor was good. The A.S.S. Maze was one of the best noodle dishes I have had. Rich broth with just the right heat and chicken was super tender. Would highly recommend!
May 20 · Kenneth WolferI have lived in Japan for 4 years so I know it when I get to enjoy authentic ramen and gyoza. Chaplin’s is a very vibrant Japanese restaurant that was full of happy patrons. We enjoyed some interesting drinks, karage, gyoza, a variety of ramens and the payday gyoza that gets an injection of whiskey! The Chaplin A.S.S ramen is a variant, but with an amazing broth, loved it!Overall, I loved the menu, the flavors and the drinks! Will certainly be back. The only improvement I may suggest is to decongest the sitting arrangement as it seems overcrowded.
March 08 · Tarang SMy homeboy and I went to Chaplins for dinner and sat at Jane’s bar upstairs. I’ve been going to Chaplin’s for a few years now, and Jane has always been my favorite bartender. I’m glad that she’s still there in addition to the awesome cocktails, frozen Tokyo Tea and spot on food menu. I finally tried out the Curry Ramen with Pork Belly, Ground Pork , over easy poached egg and it was excellent. Chaplin’s is a Great place to go to in Washington DC during any time of the evening. The ambiance at night is really nice and no matter how busy they are the noise level is at the norm where you can still hear yourself think and converse with your company. Cheers!!!!! 👍🏼
May 12 · mark conliffeA solid place for excellent food, service, and ingredients. As you enter you'll find a low lit inviting atmosphere. The staff were great and attentive to everything you need. Food was definitely and freshly prepared. Cocktails were good with all the classics and some house made classics too. Fresh prepared noodles and appetizers that can please any appetite. Indoor and outdoor seating. Family friendly with a limited kids menu. Prices were reasonable. Downtown parking. Overall a great spot to visit if you're in DC.
March 30 · Matthew KrunglevichGreat food and great service! Drinks we tried are labeled and tasted awesome! Cool spot and we’ll have to come back for their Ramen from what we heard!
