Chinchikurin Reviews
Great food, just like in Japan!Everything we ordered was delicious—especially the okonomiyaki and curry. The flavors reminded me of meals I had in Japan. I also appreciated the bag hooks under the table—nice touch! Only downside was that it was a bit hard to get the server’s attention when we were ready to pay. Otherwise, would definitely come back!
May 26 · Danica F. (Dearest Danica)First time trying Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, and I really liked it! Super savory with a little sweetness. Everything blended so well together. Noodles, cabbage, egg, meat… all the good stuff in one bite.Service was great too! Even though it was busy, they still checked on us multiple times. I will definitely come back for more next time!
May 09 · Kiki WuChinchikurin is a vibe. The ceiling design is wild in the best way, and there’s this thoughtful write-up about Hiroshima that really sets the tone. Loved that they tied in the city’s history—how it rebuilt itself after the nuclear attack and became the City of Peace. You don’t expect that kind of depth at a casual eatery, but it gave the place soul. Now to the food—this is Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, so think layers on layers: noodles, egg, a thin crepe, meat, and a couple of sauces drizzled on top. We tried the Corn Chicken Mayo and the Chinchikurin Signature with beef. The corn chicken was definitely on the indulgent side—cheesy, creamy, a little smoky from the torched top. Very American twist, fun to try once but a bit rich for me.The Signature was more up my alley—felt closer to the traditional style, with beef and just the right amount of everything. One thing I noticed: the sauce leans sweet. I was craving a little more savoriness or a hint of spice to balance it out. That said, the texture and layering were spot on—comforting and satisfying without being too heavy.Overall, it’s a unique spot with heart, flavor, and a story—and I’d definitely come back to try other variations. Maybe next time I’ll ask them to dial up the heat!
May 27 · SamLoved how we got greeted here! The service was top notch and the waiter gave us an introduction of the place and where the food came from. Not only that but the food was delish! Definitely plan on coming back again and recommend it!
May 21 · Lang NguyenIf you’re even thinking about trying this place—do it!! We had an incredible meal from start to finish, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Our server, Jackson, was phenomenal!! He was warm, attentive, and truly knew the menu inside and out. He made some fantastic recommendations that totally elevated our experience. You could tell he genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time.. and we absolutely did!!Now, the food—wow. We ordered the grilled squid, fried oysters, beef tongue, ika ika, and the loaded kaisen. Every single dish came out piping hot, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The textures were spot on, and the freshness of the seafood really stood out.Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back—and asking for Jackson again!
