Curry Hyuga Introduce
In the bustling heart of Cupertino, California, lies Curry Hyuga, a Japanese restaurant that has become a local favorite for its dedication to authentic Japanese curry. Positioned conveniently at 19650 Stevens Creek Blvd, this establishment offers a comforting and robust culinary experience, focusing on one of Japan's most beloved comfort foods. While the platform category "Doctor Near Me" might seem unconventional for a restaurant, it implies a search for local services and goods, and Curry Hyuga certainly delivers on providing a valued culinary service to the community.
Curry Hyuga offers a casual and welcoming dining environment. The focus is on the food and the experience of enjoying a hearty meal. While some customers have noted that the restaurant can be a bit noisy, which might make it challenging for quiet conversations, the lively atmosphere often speaks to its popularity. It's the kind of place where you can relax and indulge in a satisfying meal without formality. The setting is designed to be functional and comfortable, allowing diners to focus on the generous portions and rich flavors of their Japanese curry.
Curry Hyuga primarily operates as a dine-in restaurant, inviting guests to experience their dishes fresh from the kitchen. However, understanding the modern diner's needs, they also offer robust takeout and delivery services. You can easily order online through platforms like DoorDash and Uber Eats, making it incredibly convenient to enjoy their Japanese curry from the comfort of your home or office. Their phone number, (408) 352-5368, or mobile number, +1 408-352-5368, is available for direct inquiries or to place orders. The restaurant aims to provide efficient service, whether you're dining in or opting for delivery.
Curry Hyuga specializes in traditional Japanese curry, renowned for its rich, savory, and often slightly sweet flavor profile. Their curry is made fresh daily with a special blend of aromatic spices and caramelized onions, slow-simmered to create a deep and authentic taste. This dedication to preparation ensures a consistent and flavorful base for all their curry dishes.
One of the most frequently highlighted features is the generous portion sizes. Many customers report that the servings are substantial, often too much for one person to finish, making it a great value and perfect for sharing or enjoying leftovers. This is a recurring theme in customer reviews, emphasizing that you get a truly satisfying meal at Curry Hyuga.
Key menu items that receive significant attention include:
- Pork Cutlet Curry (Tonkatsu Curry): This is a highly popular choice, featuring a crispy breaded pork cutlet served with their signature curry and white rice. Reviews suggest the cutlet is well-fried and tender, though some have mentioned it can be a bit thin.
- Chicken Katsu Curry: Another staple, offering a crispy breaded chicken cutlet with the flavorful curry. This dish is often praised for its quality and taste.
- Beef Omurice Curry: This dish combines a fluffy omelette with beef, often served over rice and drenched in curry. Some customers have noted that the curry in this dish can have a slightly tangy flavor, potentially from ingredients like bell peppers, which offers a unique twist.
- Hayashi (Beef Hayashi): A non-curry option, this stew features beef, onions, and mushrooms in a thick demi-glace sauce. Customer feedback indicates it can be quite sour, so it might be best suited for those who enjoy tangy flavors.
- Corn Potage Soup: This soup consistently receives high praise for its comforting, balanced, and creamy flavor. It's often cited as a standout side dish or appetizer.
While the Signature Curry is a cornerstone, it has received mixed reviews, with some finding its flavor too strong or overpowering. This highlights the subjective nature of taste, especially with complex flavor profiles like Japanese curry. Curry Hyuga offers customizable spice levels for their curry dishes, ranging from mild to extremely spicy, allowing diners to tailor their experience to their preference.
Curry Hyuga is recognized for offering good value for the quality and quantity of food provided. Given the generous portions, the pricing is generally considered reasonable, making it an attractive option for a satisfying meal. While specific, ongoing promotions are not explicitly detailed in the provided information, the value inherent in their large serving sizes acts as a consistent draw for customers. Many online delivery platforms also feature special deals like "$0 delivery fee on first order" for new customers, which can be an added incentive to try Curry Hyuga through these services.
The restaurant also appears to have a strong local following and consistent quality across its locations. This consistency, coupled with the authentic flavors and generous portions, serves as an ongoing promotion through positive word-of-mouth and repeat business.
In summary, Curry Hyuga in Cupertino stands out as a go-to destination for those craving authentic, hearty Japanese curry. Its casual setting, coupled with a focus on generous portions and flavorful, slow-simmered curry, creates a comforting dining experience that resonates with local users seeking quality Japanese comfort food.

Curry Hyuga Reviews
The portions here are huge! We each ordered one, but couldn’t finish.Pork Cutlet Curry: The cutlet was a bit thin, and it felt like a very traditional Japanese-style curry. It was tasty.Beef Omurice Curry: The curry had a slightly tangy flavor, maybe from bell peppers — quite unique.
Apr 11, 2025 · SUEI tried the Beef Hayashi, but it was quite sour for my taste. If you enjoy tangy flavors, you might like it more than I did. The Signature Curry was also not very appealing to me — the flavor was too strong and overpowering. The only thing I really liked was the corn soup. It was comforting and had a nice balance. Also, the restaurant environment was quite noisy, which made it a bit hard to enjoy the meal.
May 12, 2025 · YS HuangSecond time at Curry Hyuga and it was just as delicious as the first time.Corn soup is full of flavor, creamy, and just the right amount of croutons.Potato salad is fresh and delicious. We LOVE the red pickled acoutremont. The curry is thick and flavorful. The veggies are yummy. The pork/veggie katsu was big portions, fresh and crunchy. We recommend getting there early as it does get busy quickly.
Mar 26, 2025 · Angie Anderson4/27/2025Curry Hyuga19650 Stevens Creek BlvdCupertino, CA 95014I love Tonkatsu Curry so tried here around noon on a Sunday. It's in the same plaza as Daiso and Tokyo Central. I had to orbit a little to find parking. The place was full and I had to get on the wait list, even as a single. After about 15 minutes I got a table. The place is long and narrow with minimalist contemporary furniture. The menu of course is mostly curry and deep fried dishes. I ordered the Pork Tonkatsu Curry plate which was brought to me shortly. The cutlet was even in thickness with a dark brown crispy breading and moist and tender. The curry was on the same plate with good flavor. The food was very good and plentiful. The service was good. Also a good value and would repeat but not on a weekend due to the parking issues but a weekday should be fine.
May 10, 2025 · Mark TashimaThe teppanji was tasty! The curry was too sweet for my liking, so I liked the red pequin spice to balance out the flavor and the kaarage was good. The kaarage curry doesn’t have a lot of meat though, so I’d recommend the signature if you’re looking for best value.
