Daikanyama Japanese Restaurant Reviews
Best Japanese restaurant my wife and I have around Chestnut Hill. The place can be a bit hard to find if you're already inside the mall. It's located inside Bloomingdales. If you're inside the mall, then just enter blooming dales and hug the left side corner. You'll find the entrance to Daikanyama. They typically have a tarp out, showing the menu.I would highly recommend the Tempura. Any of them. Vegetable, shrimp, seafood tempura, all of them are great. They fry it to perfection. The only thing is that their tempura sauce tends to be on the bland and gingery side, but the overall taste blends well together. If you're on a budget, then make sure to head here for lunch as the lunch sets are, on average, $10 cheaper. There is an abundance of free, open-air parking around the mall complex, so you'll almost never run out of places to park. 5 stars, can't wait to go back.
November 08 · Aaron G.I loved this place and would definitely go again. As a teen it was very nice waiters and staff
November 23 · Phina SilevitchBig disappointment! Planned to eat here for a special occasion after reading good reviews about welcoming, friendly staff and excellent food. Menu online looked appealing. Arrived around 3pm on a Wednesday. Many open tables and two servers. We liked the modern decor. Our server-who seemed rushed-was not the least bit friendly. My friends green tea burned his mouth and was too hot to drink for most of his meal. His Udon Noodles with Shrimp tempura had a nice tasting broth but was also too hot to eat for a while. My Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura was bland. It had no flavor. the sauce that came with it did nothing to improve the flavor. There was a lot more tempura than shrimp or vegetables. After asking for soy sauce -a few times- I tried adding that to no avail. it was just unappetizing. And expensive. We were charged for rice that was supposed to be included... Bummer!
November 30 · Karen O'KeefeSushi, salads, and seafood all amazing. We got soft-shell crab, maki rolls, noodles, lamb chops and a bunch of other stuff. Everything was fresh, well-packaged & delicious.Call them for takeout (you can’t use an app) and you can pay over the phone. When I went to pick up, they gave me everything literally in 2 seconds!
May 23 · Andrew Toksoz-ExleyI am normally not fond of having food at a mall though this restaurant can be accessed both from the mall plus has its separate entrance and which allows them to be independent from mall hours. They have good quality sushi. The staff is friendly and the place is inviting. On weekend evenings, a reservation is recommended .
