Jan 27, 2024 · Sarah77 YueMy son brought me to Gouie for my birthday. It may be a counter with a few seats, but the food and service were beyond outstanding!!!!! Sake tastings were incredible. The staff was beyond wonderful. The food...I cannot put into words how great the food was. Sad to see this place close at the end of this month. Somebody scoop them up and get them a place!!!! STAT!!!
Mar 10, 2024 · Ana SanabriaI have seen this restaurant for some time but I never seem to be shopping at Essex Market after it opens.Luckily I mad it there yesterday and it was wonderful. There is only counter seating which at first seem surprisingly high till you get used to it. While you don’t get to watch the chef prepare your food when it’s presented there is a sense of wonder as several dishes are quite beautiful. We only preferred one appetizer and sushi but it was all delicious and I will be back to try more. Much of the specials menu is fish imported from Japan.
Dec 23, 2022 · Scott LaineHad a fabulous lunch here!!! Food was immaculate and the service was polite and kind. Fresh, and fairly priced, super authentic. We enjoyed a glass of sake, perfectly balanced miso, the Nami chefs tasting plate, and highly recommend the homemade goma tofu! We wrapped up with matcha ice cream.
