For residents across Georgia, especially those nestled in or frequently visiting the charming and bustling city of Decatur, finding a single restaurant that masterfully delivers on multiple Asian cuisines can be a true culinary gem. Green Ginger Asian Fusion Restaurant, conveniently located on Ponce De Leon Place, is precisely that kind of establishment. It has become a beloved local spot for its impressive variety, offering an extensive menu that spans Japanese, Chinese, and Thai culinary traditions, ensuring there's something to satisfy every craving.
Customers consistently praise Green Ginger for its diverse offerings and welcoming atmosphere. One patron shared their delightful lunch experience, noting, "As I got closer I noticed plenty of free shared parking was available, and I easily found a spot just a short walk from the restaurant. As I approached, I noticed outdoor seating and decided to wait near the entrance for my friend to arrive. The steady stream of customers suggested it was a popular place for takeout as well. When my friend showed up, we had a quick chat about whether to dine inside or out. I was leaning toward sitting outside (of course), and thankfully, he agreed. Although the day was a little gloomy and some sunshine would’ve been nice, we opted for the patio. The indoor dining area looked a little dark anyway. We were seated promptly and handed menus. Our server, Lukas, came by shortly after to take our drink order—we kept it simple with a couple of waters—and then started checking the extensive menu. What makes this place stand out is its variety: Japanese, Chinese, and Thai dishes all in one spot. On this visit, we were definitely focused on the Thai options. While they offered a few lunch specials, I was a little disappointed that the Massaman curry wasn’t included. I went with the Panang curry with chicken instead, while my friend chose the chicken Pad Thai. My friend asked if some added spice could be added to his order and he advised he would mention it to the kitchen. The food arrived pretty quickly (under 15 minutes) —which gave us a chance to catch up while we waited. The lunch special also came with a choice of soup or salad; we both chose the ginger salad, which arrived with a spring roll on the side. Lukas, our server, was clearly busy but remained friendly and helpful throughout. My friend's meal didn’t turn out particularly spicy, but he still really enjoyed it. I was happy with my Panang curry too—great flavor and a generous portion for a lunch special. I’ve driven past this place many times, but this was my first visit. Now that I’ve tried it, I’ll definitely be back—especially since it’s located in one of my favorite areas of town." This detailed account highlights key aspects like convenient parking, outdoor seating, efficient service, and the impressive range of cuisines, confirming its appeal as a versatile dining choice.
Another customer raved about the quality of the Japanese offerings, stating, "Came here an hour before closing and got an exemplary service. The Shumai melts in your mouth, I could’ve eaten a dozen more. I also got the sashimi regular combo. Thick Sashimi slices, with fatty salmon and fatty tunas. Will definitely be returning here again." This feedback underscores Green Ginger's excellence in its Japanese fare, particularly its fresh and high-quality sushi and sashimi. It’s clear that whether you're in the mood for a comforting Thai curry, classic Chinese stir-fry, or fresh Japanese sushi, Green Ginger Asian Fusion Restaurant aims to deliver a satisfying and enjoyable meal for the local community.

Apr 20, 2025 · Rouie DIn town from Nashville, TN looking for a quick bite to eat, randomly found this place. I ordered the lunch special Noodles Bowl with tofu, it comes with soup or salad and an egg roll. WOW so much food for such an amazing price! Megan was our server and she was very attentive, kind and overall great with the service.
Nov 22, 2024 · Meli MelMy husband and I wanted some mid day lunch so we walked down Ponce De Leon and stumbled across this Asian Fusion restaurant. We ordered a super crunchy roll, chicken/shrimp lo mein, chicken & shrimp Pad Thai, soup and salad, and the steak (strip) teriyaki with fried rice. We also ordered some cocktails Rock you like a hurricane and a Strawberry cocktail that were pretty good. It was very good and the lunch prices were great. The ginger salad was amazing. There weren’t alot of people there so customer service was good. There was also an up charge to add shrimp to the lo mein of $5.49 but it came out as a side of shrimp fried rice our server was new, he did well but was a little confused at times about what food was coming out. We ordered the Pad Thai to go but it came out at the beginning of the meal. Overall, the food was really good and I would go back.
Apr 25, 2024 · Santina WimblyI always want this place to be better. The food is pretty terrible and the prices are exorbitant. It would be one thing if it was cheap but it’s ridiculously expensive for the quality. I’d say the service is it’s only redeeming quality. The waitstaff is kind, helpful, and mostly on top of it. I went recently (first time in years) to give GG another chance and unfortunately I didn’t get my entire until everyone else had finished eating. And then it was bad. All to say, save your money and go elsewhere.
