GU JAPANESE FUSION SUSHI & BAR Reviews
GU Japanese Fusion Sushi & Bar offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere with polite and friendly staff. The food is consistently excellent, and the slightly dim lighting adds to the peaceful vibe. While the tables are close together, the restaurant is spacious with two seating areas and a bar, so it rarely feels overcrowded. One detail I really appreciate is the designated area for hanging coats—it’s such a thoughtful touch. I’ve been to this restaurant six times and have never made a reservation. Each time, the staff was kind enough to accommodate us, which is perfect for spontaneous visits like mine. Highly recommend for anyone looking for good food and great service!
Jan 16, 2025 · nazanin vaziriGreat Happy Hour spot on 52nd street . There HH cocktails are $7 and that's a great deal . I started with a Sakitini (sake with lychee liquor and 2 big lychee pieces in it.) Wow that was delicious, get one. My friend had a Watermelon Mojito and that was good too and tasted like Summer. We started with some sushi rolls. The spicy Tuna and the Osaka roll with fried salmon in it . Get the Osaka Roll - that was so good . Staff are nice too . For mains I got the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box , this comes with shumai and sushi and salad. Good deal . My friend got the Hibachi Chicken and Salmon Bento Box and his came with some shrimp and fried rice. He enjoyed that . For our 2nd round of drinks my friend got the Blue Hawaii with rum and blue curacao and pineapple juice . Again it was so delicious. Passionfruit drink was ok . Yasai Gyoza veggie dumplings are alright. I would skip the Calamari though. Bathrooms are clean. Next time I would try a Sushi Entree but this is a great Happy Hour spot. Subway right around the corner. Recommended.
Jan 22, 2025 · shimmeringpathA solid sushi option in the city. I walked past and stopped in with an immediate table and fast service.I had a couple of salmon rolls, spicy edamame and miso soup and all were good options. They have gluten free options in the back and have a gf soy sauce on hand.
Feb 11, 2025 · Alicia WallaceVery good service, and surprisingly cheap considering that my group ordered several orders of sushi. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area. My only complaint is about the choice of music; but if I'm digging that deep to try and criticize this place, you know there must not be much to dig at. 4 stars.
Apr 05, 2025 · Caleb GrimesThe food was not good but the Asian server lady was exceptional. I went on Friday around 1pm and she was very accommodating and patient and friendly. The food was not good. I got spicy tuna roll and it felt like it was straight out of the fridge, didn’t feel fresh. The rice was hard.
