Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Reviews
Had a really great time! The food was super tasty and staff are very friendly and willing to explain how to cook the food if asked. I wish they filled the water more often. We also ordered a sauce we never received. There was very loud music there and it was hard to hear ourselves or staff speak. Excellent atmosphere otherwise. Taiyaki was very good but the vanilla ice cream it came with was not very sweet or creamy, just okay. We ordered the party platter for four and had salad and noodles leftover that we took home. All in all a great time with only minor road bumps, would go here again for another special occasion.
Apr 18, 2025 · Charlotte OsbornWe visited Gyu-Kaku BBQ and were seated at 8:30 PM. We ordered a large amount of food — probably over ten different items from the menu. However, after sitting in the restaurant for 1 hour and 40 minutes, we had only received about 15% of the food we ordered. When we raised our concerns, the manager, Nan, offered us two options: either extend our dining time or receive a 15% discount. But here’s the problem — the restaurant was closing in 10 minutes, so the time extension wasn’t even a real option. And a 15% discount did not come close to making up for the poor service and lack of food.We each ended up paying close to $50, even though we probably only got around $20 worth of food per person. It felt incredibly unfair.Overall, this was a disappointing experience. We came to enjoy a BBQ meal and left hungry and frustrated. We hope management takes customer service more seriously in the future. The restaurant manager, Nan(Her name) provides me a bad attitude.
Apr 24, 2025 · JICHEN PENGAmazing BBQ.Got the Meat Lovers for 2 and it was a lot of food but all of it was really good.We went with a large party and allowed us to split the check 4 ways.Great service and came around multiple times to check up on us.100% would go back.Drinks were great too!
Feb 14, 2025 · Aria SandersonWe love this place - the meat, the vegetables, all the apps truly delicious. Service can be a little slow, and don’t expect to get the appetizers first, they bring things out at weird times, but it’s such a fun eating experience that it’s not a big deal. Not too bad price wise if you order a la carte. Downside: be prepared to smell like smoke after
Feb 17, 2025 · Cami TussieA barbecue Japanese joint with the best hospitality, ambiance, and cuisine. They have varied combo options for 2 people, 3 people, or a group. The combo offers multiple dishes ranging from soup, salad, plain rice, seafood (prawns), edamame, meat( chicken, lamb, pork, and beef). Some combos include a dessert (s'mores or chocolate fondue) as well. There is a bar available with a variety of cocktails and the famous Sake ( rice liquor)We visited during Valentine's week and hence chose the Valentine A option, which had the full set combo, and dessert ( chocolate fondue). One has to barbecue their own food here. Each meat has a different grill time, and the servers guide you on it. We ordered their house special sake, and it tasted awesome. They don't take online or Apple Pay, and they do not have a chip card machine. So, ensure to carry a swipe card or cash.A huge thanks to Kat and Bee for making our visit special by educating us on each item and suggesting the best options. Your customer orientation is Class A.A must visit whilst you are at Boston!!
