Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Reviews
Everything was delicious. Asparagus was a tad underwhelming (just butter), but I chalk that up to the other dishes bursting with flavor. Definitely get the shishito peppers, chili mayo shrimp (11/10), wagyu, and beef tongue (with the scallion sauce!).We chose to do a la carte as a party of 2 and the price point is really not bad. The quality of the meal and experience are above and beyond. Our server, Enrique, was attentive and eager to help. We have to give a shout out to manager Koyo, as well, for his careful recommendations and friendly service.First but definitely not our last time dining here. We left full and happy.
May 03, 2025 · Christine LimWe ordered way too much food because everything looked so good. We couldn’t finish everything but it was all delicious. Will definitely come back again
Dec 06, 2024 · SiQing Xu McDonnellIf I could give zero stars, I would. From the moment I sat down, this waitress — an Asian woman with a ponytail — made it abundantly clear she had no interest in doing her job, let alone offering basic human decency. She scoffed at me like my very presence annoyed her. Not once did she check in. Not once did she offer a refill, a smile, or even a shred of courtesy. I may as well have been a ghost at that table. She made a point of ignoring me while giving full attention to others nearby. I wasn’t rude. I wasn’t demanding. I simply existed — and that, apparently, was enough to earn her contempt. Then came the final slap in the face: a smug suggestion of an 18% “minimum” tip. For what? For treating me like trash? For doing the bare minimum with visible disdain? Tipping is earned. Respect is earned. Neither were deserved here.If management cares even slightly about this establishment’s reputation, they need to seriously reevaluate who they’re hiring. No one should pay to be treated with open hostility. This experience was insulting, infuriating, and unforgettable — for all the wrong reasons.Avoid this place unless you enjoy being disrespected and charged extra for the privilege.
May 19, 2025 · Nimlama SherpaGyu-Kaku offers a solid all-you-can-eat experience with a great selection of meats and sides. The grilling experience is fun and interactive, making it an enjoyable spot for groups. The beef ramen was good, with a flavorful broth and tender beef, but it didn’t quite reach perfection. Some dishes stood out more than others, and the overall experience was satisfying but not exceptional. Still, it’s a good choice if you’re craving Japanese BBQ and looking for a casual dining experience. Worth a visit, but not a must-try.
Jan 20, 2025 · Sercan OrGreat experience! The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Our online reservation was canceled due to a glitch. Even though it was a busy Friday night they managed to squeeze us in and give us phenomenal service! The food and drinks were great! They have an excellent selection of food and high quality meats. Good selection of vegetarian options for a BBQ place. The Beyond Bibimbap was delicious.Would highly recommend this restaurant!
