Happy At the Bay Teriyaki #5 (Kent-Kangley) Introduce
Happy At the Bay Teriyaki #5, located at 13003 SE Kent-Kangley Rd #114 in Kent, WA, has established itself as a familiar presence in the local dining scene. For many in the community, it serves as a convenient and accessible option for Japanese and Asian-inspired comfort food, much like a "Doctor Near Me" provides readily available services for everyday needs.
The restaurant offers a diverse menu, primarily focusing on teriyaki dishes, which are a regional favorite. Their selection includes classic chicken teriyaki, often served with rice and a refreshing salad. Beef teriyaki is also a prominent item, though some customer experiences regarding its texture have varied, with one mentioning parts being "all tendon or something very chewy." Despite this, many patrons continue to appreciate the flavors, with one long-time customer exclaiming, "Food tastes so good, it'll make your tongue slap your brains out!!"
Beyond teriyaki, Happy At the Bay Teriyaki #5 expands its offerings to include chicken katsu, a popular breaded and fried chicken cutlet. While one review noted that both the teriyaki and katsu were "dry," this feedback contrasts with the overall sentiment from loyal customers who "never had a bad meal." This suggests a general consistency in quality, with individual experiences possibly varying.
The menu also features other beloved Asian comfort foods. Their "house fried rice is also yummy," indicating a solid offering beyond the main teriyaki and katsu. Appetizers like "salt and pepper wings" have received positive remarks for being "pretty good." This broader selection, including items like Yakisoba (noodles stir-fried with vegetables and choice of protein), various fried rice options, and even Chinese specials such as General Tso's Chicken and Sesame Chicken, ensures there's something for nearly every palate.
A notable perk that Happy At the Bay Teriyaki #5 offers is "free hot tea," a thoughtful touch that enhances the dining experience. While the establishment is primarily known as a "real good neighborhood teriyaki joint" and a popular spot for "take-out orders," it also provides a casual setting for those who choose to dine in. The emphasis appears to be on efficient service, particularly for takeout, as they are described as "fast filling a lot of take-out orders." This efficiency is a key factor in their popularity, making them a go-to for quick and convenient meals, a characteristic often sought when looking for a "Doctor Near Me" for immediate attention.
The customer service at Happy At the Bay Teriyaki #5 generally receives positive feedback. Patrons often describe the staff as "great people," contributing to a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. This personable approach, combined with efficient service, creates a pleasant interaction for customers, whether they are regulars or first-time visitors.

Online ordering and delivery services are also available through platforms like DoorDash and GrubHub, further enhancing their accessibility and convenience for local users, making them a truly "Doctor Near Me" for your mealtime solutions.
While one review mentions a "sketchy neighborhood," this feedback focuses more on the external surroundings rather than the internal environment or the quality of the food and service. The restaurant's enduring popularity and loyal customer base suggest that the positive aspects of the food and service outweigh any perceived external factors for most patrons.

Happy At the Bay Teriyaki #5 (Kent-Kangley) Reviews
Both my teriyaki and katsu were dry. 👎🏾The salad and salt and pepper wings were pretty good tho.👍🏾They also offer free hot tea. 👍🏾My mom had their beef teriyaki and 1/3 wasn't edible. It was like all tendon or something very chewy.
April 29 · Rae JoonMy wife and I have been eating here for years!! We've never had a bad meal. Just a real good neighborhood teriyaki joint 👌. Great people, good food. Food tastes so good, it'll make your tongue slap your brains out!!
May 25 · Spike NailThis place was incredible. Service was so friendly. The food was incredible well prepared and a giant step above your average teriyaki. My only regret was not trying the Korean food offered. I’ll have to go back!
May 18 · Margaret ShepherdNot what I expected. In a good way!!! The food was amazing!! Bi Bim Bap was so good! So were the eggrolls. Chicken Katsu order was huge. Mango Boba smoothie was perfect! This is our new weeknight favorite 😍
May 13 · RANDI CLINEFood is overcooked and hard to chew. Chicken meat is dark brown🧐🤔 and service is slow. Three people and 100 dollars later. Way too much. The happy teriyaki in Aberdeen WA is way better ! Language barriers they don't speak English well. Cleanliness was concerning. People preparing food were not wearing gloves. OSHA needs to visit this one. Not to mention last I checked properly cooked chicken is white. Not dark brown.Mystery meat for sure. Sweet and sour sauce was super dark and thick,Unlike the happy teriyaki in Aberdeen WA, the sauce is super thin. Overall my family won't be going back. It was definitely a Disappointment. I was hoping for good things.
