HINODEYA Ramen Union Square Introduce
For those living in or visiting San Francisco, the quest for an exceptional bowl of ramen often leads to discovering hidden gems that truly capture the essence of Japanese culinary tradition. Among these, HINODEYA Ramen Union Square stands out as a beacon of authentic flavors and warm hospitality. Unlike many ramen establishments that focus solely on heavy, pork-based broths, HINODEYA distinguishes itself with its signature "dashi" broth – a lighter, yet profoundly flavorful and umami-rich base that has garnered a loyal following.
HINODEYA's roots trace back over a century, with a legacy originating from Japan. This deep heritage is reflected in every bowl, from the carefully crafted broths to the perfectly cooked noodles and thoughtfully selected toppings. It’s a place where tradition meets contemporary dining, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment for any occasion, whether it’s a solo meal, a casual outing with friends, or a memorable family dinner. The focus here is not just on serving food, but on providing an experience that transports diners straight to Japan.
San Francisco's vibrant food scene is constantly evolving, and HINODEYA has carved out its niche by prioritizing quality ingredients and exceptional customer service. This dedication has earned them a reputation as a must-visit destination for ramen enthusiasts and those looking to explore authentic Japanese cuisine. Their unique dashi broth offers a refreshing alternative to heavier ramen styles, making it a favorite for those who appreciate a more nuanced and delicate flavor profile.

- Signature Dashi Broth: The cornerstone of HINODEYA's appeal is its unique "dashi" broth. This provides a refreshing and deeply satisfying flavor experience.

- Variety of Ramen Options: The menu caters to diverse preferences, offering not only their signature dashi-based ramen but also spicy options, creamy vegan ramen, and unique creations like Sukiyaki Beef Ramen and Hamaguri (clam) Ramen, ensuring there's something for everyone.
- Freshly Made Noodles: The restaurant reportedly uses machines brought from Japan to make their noodles fresh daily, ensuring superior texture and taste without preservatives. This commitment to quality in every component of the dish is a key highlight.
- Vegan-Friendly Options: With dedicated vegan ramen like "Creamy Ramen" and "Zen Ramen," HINODEYA caters well to plant-based diners, offering flavorful and satisfying choices.
- Inviting Ambiance: Described as a "great place to enjoy a meal with friends, a date, with the family or by yourself," the restaurant provides a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere, sometimes even featuring unique dining areas like an "olive tree room" for a relaxing experience.

HINODEYA Ramen Union Square Reviews
Loved everything about Hinodeya Ramen. It's a great place to enjoy a meal with friends, a date, with the family or by yourself.I really loved the Sukiyaki Beef Ramen. There were plenty of noodles and beef in there and the broth was out of this world. The Green Gyozas were ok but, I am not vegan, so try them for yourself to find out. Next time, I will try a different appetizer though ... and hopefully have time for a drink. Great place!
April 06 · Rafael OteroMy wife and I visited this restaurant a few weeks back and wow! Everything was so awesome, we have now returned 3 times. The food is excellent. And the service is outstanding. Oliver served us and treated us like family. His kindness and customer service is amazing. We will continue to return just to see Oliver and for the outstanding food. This is a must do! Highly recommend you try it out.
March 10 · Robert CortezA small space with limited tables but the food was delicious. We both had the ramen, the spicy and the house ramen. The noodles were Al dente and chewy with substance. The soup broth was very good and hearty with decent depth. The level 1 was not too spicy so next time level 2? We don’t have to wait as a table opened up as soon as we came at 6:00 pm. Shortly afterwards all tables were full and there was a wait. The QR code we used did not take my order no mater how many times I tried. We ended up getting our order through the waitress after waiting 20 minutes!! Prices were reasonable but you pay extra for spicier levels.
May 25 · DYJ1948Really good Ramen. I like that you walk in, they seat you pretty quickly. You scan the QR code and order online and they bring the food to your table. There is a drum that they hit sometimes, i guess when they get a certain order, it was cute!We got the most popular ramen. It had beef in it. I really liked the flavor of the broth. I don’t usually finish ramen and I ate most of it, it was so good. Lots of noodles and toppings on it too. Def would come back again, not busy even during GDC week. The bathroom is interesting, they give you a code and then the door automatically locks the keypad and you need to lock the door it’s wierd and high tech.
March 24 · MarisaThis was the first place I ate at after arriving in SF so we didn’t know much. It’s a very small place and it’s very cramped inside. You scan a QR code on the table and pay online. You barely interact with the waiters. They bring you water and that’s about it. The SUKIYAKI BEEF Ramen was 26 dollars and way overpriced for what it was. The Spicy Miso I feel as though was overpriced but that is just SF.Make sure to use the crispy topping they put on the table!
