I got the Chicken Katsu from this place, which seemed to be their most popular itemThis came with breaded slices of chicken breast, served over a bed of rice. Since I got takeout, it came with a side of curry, along with a side saladThe chicken was decent. It had a good color to its breading, and was a little bit crunchy at parts, but I thought the breading came off a little too easilyThe actual meat itself was on the drier side, but not objectionably so. It was fine enough to consume without being too put off byWhat actually did impress me was the amount of chicken provided - there was a lotI did like the curry sauce - while not spicy, it had a ton of spices to it, and was quite flavorful. It had a nutty taste and aroma that was pretty solidThe rice was on the drier side though, I thought it could've been cooked with more water. I also realized it would've been a better experience if I'd removed the chicken, poured the sauce over the rice, mixed everything together, and put the chicken back on and eaten it that way - because pouring the sauce over the chicken meant a lot of the rice at the bottom was just plainLike I mentioned, the portion size here was actually very good - there was a lot of rice, chicken, and curry. It's relatively expensive for a lunch - about $19, so I'm not sure if its fully worth it, but the size helps make up for that a bitOverall, it's a decent enough chicken katsu. the curry especially is good, but the meat could've been improved. 7.5/10 - James

The emphasis on generous portion sizes also speaks to their commitment to providing value to their customers.

The defining feature of Hurry Curry of Tokyo is, as its name suggests, its Japanese curry. This isn't just any curry; it's a specialty that garners significant praise. The Chicken Katsu, a breaded chicken cutlet served over rice, appears to be their most popular and recommended item. Customers consistently highlight the deliciousness of the curry sauce, describing it as flavorful, rich with spices, and possessing a pleasant nutty taste and aroma. While not overtly spicy, its depth of flavor seems to be a significant draw. The combination of crispy chicken katsu, fluffy rice, and the distinctive curry sauce creates a satisfying and comforting meal. The restaurant also offers side dishes that complement the main entrees, contributing to a well-rounded dining experience. The generous portion sizes are another prominent feature, ensuring that diners leave feeling full and satisfied, a significant factor given the price point.

Based on customer experiences, the Chicken Katsu is a standout. While one reviewer noted the breading of the chicken katsu could be a bit delicate and the meat slightly dry, the overall consensus points to a "decent enough" and "very good, fresh and great flavors" experience. The substantial amount of chicken provided, alongside a generous serving of rice and curry, makes it a substantial meal. The nuanced feedback suggests that while the chicken itself might have minor areas for improvement, the quality and unique flavor of the curry sauce more than compensate, elevating the dish significantly. The suggestion to mix the curry sauce thoroughly with the rice and chicken is a testament to the sauce's integral role in the overall enjoyment of the meal. The fact that it's considered "one of the better Chicken Katsu's" in Seattle by a patron speaks volumes about its quality within the local culinary scene.

Regarding promotional information, while the provided text doesn't explicitly detail ongoing promotions, the mention of a "Chicken Katsu lunch special" indicates that Hurry Curry of Tokyo likely offers value-oriented deals, especially during peak lunch hours. This is a common practice for restaurants in commercial districts to attract a steady stream of customers. Given the price point of around $19 for a lunch, these specials would be designed to offer an attractive proposition, making the meal more accessible. The consistent positive feedback on portion size also serves as a strong form of promotion, as customers appreciate getting good value for their money. Restaurants often leverage positive word-of-mouth and customer reviews, such as those provided, as a crucial element of their promotional strategy. For potential customers searching on platforms like "Doctor Near Me" and finding this establishment, the generous portions and unique curry flavor would be key selling points, positioning it as a highly satisfying and comforting meal option.
