Ichiban Teriyaki Introduce
As a local resident of Kenmore, WA, you're always looking for convenient and satisfying dining options. While "Doctor Near Me" is typically where you'd search for medical services, let's pivot that concept slightly to explore another essential local service: a reliable and delicious place to eat when you need a quick, comforting meal. Think of it as a "Teriyaki Near Me" solution, and in that vein, **Ichiban Teriyaki** often comes up as a go-to spot for many in the community. Located at 6524 NE 181st St, Kenmore, WA 98028, USA, Ichiban Teriyaki is easily accessible and has been serving up classic Japanese-American fare for a while.
You can reach Ichiban Teriyaki by phone at (425) 481-7585 or via mobile at +1 425-481-7585 if you're looking to place an order for pick-up or have any questions. This establishment embodies the classic "greater-Seattle area teriyaki place" experience, offering a straightforward menu that focuses on what they do best: teriyaki. It’s important to note that unlike some other teriyaki spots that have expanded their menus to include a wider range of Asian dishes, Ichiban Teriyaki keeps it simple, which for many, is a welcome approach.
When it comes to the **environment** of Ichiban Teriyaki, it generally aligns with what you'd expect from a local, casual teriyaki joint. Most customers describe it as a no-frills, functional space designed for quick and efficient service. It’s the kind of place where the focus is firmly on the food rather than an elaborate dining atmosphere. This casual setting means it’s perfect for a weekday lunch, a quick dinner after work, or a convenient take-out option for the family. While specific details about the interior decor aren't extensively documented, the general consensus points to a utilitarian and unassuming space, typical of many beloved local eateries.
The **services** at Ichiban Teriyaki are primarily centered around serving their teriyaki dishes efficiently. The traditional service model for teriyaki restaurants often involves counter service, where you place your order and then either wait for it to be prepared for dine-in or packaged for take-out. Based on customer experiences, the service can sometimes be a point of discussion. One reviewer noted an instance where a server was perceived as unfriendly and that a dine-in order was prepared for take-out, which can certainly be disappointing if you're expecting to eat at the restaurant. However, other reviews imply a generally smooth and standard service experience, focusing on getting your order quickly and correctly.
Now, let’s delve into the **features** that make Ichiban Teriyaki stand out, drawing from customer feedback. The cornerstone of their offering is, naturally, the **teriyaki chicken**. Customers consistently praise the chicken for being **fresh and chargrilled to a perfect juiciness**. This char-grilling technique sets it apart, giving it a distinct flavor and texture that many enjoy. The chicken is described as "very lightly marinated," which suggests a subtle flavor profile that allows the natural taste of the chicken to come through, complemented by their signature sauce. The **portion sizes** are considered to be "on par with most places," typically including "roughly three thighs, two mounds of rice, and a little iceberg lettuce salad," providing a satisfying and complete meal.
The **teriyaki sauce** itself is another highlight. It's characterized as a "light sauce that hits the salty sweet balance of a teriyaki sauce, not thick or gloppy." This description is appealing to those who prefer a more delicate and less overwhelming sauce that enhances, rather than masks, the flavor of the chicken. Beyond the teriyaki chicken, the **gyoza** (pan-fried dumplings) are also mentioned as a solid side option. They are described as "crisp and filled adequately," indicating a reliable and satisfying addition to any meal, with "no surprises there," suggesting a consistent quality.
One of the defining **features** is the **simplicity of the menu**. As one reviewer put it, "The menu is simple in comparison to most teriyaki places that have a wide range of other Asian fare, this was more straightforward." This focus on a core offering can be a strength, allowing the restaurant to perfect its primary dishes. For those who appreciate a no-fuss approach and want classic teriyaki without being overwhelmed by too many choices, Ichiban Teriyaki’s streamlined menu is a clear advantage.
In terms of **promotional information**, while specific current promotions aren't available online, the very nature of a local teriyaki spot like Ichiban Teriyaki often implies inherent value. Teriyaki restaurants are typically known for offering generous portions at reasonable prices, making them an economical choice for a filling meal. Their consistent quality in terms of chicken preparation and sauce, as highlighted by positive reviews, serves as its own form of promotion—satisfied customers who return and recommend the place to others. The consistent availability of their classic teriyaki, a comfort food for many, is a promotion in itself for local users seeking a reliable dining option.
It's important to present a balanced view, and while many reviews are positive, it's worth acknowledging dissenting opinions. One customer had a particularly negative experience, citing issues such as a "very unfriendly" person taking the order, "dry no flavor" chicken breast, "stir fry more like soup no flavor," and a general lack of freshness. This review also mentioned receiving plastic forks when expecting to dine in and feeling that their tip was unearned. Such experiences, while seemingly isolated compared to the overall positive sentiment, highlight that individual experiences can vary and that customer service can sometimes be inconsistent. However, the overarching feedback tends to lean towards Ichiban Teriyaki being a "solid teriyaki joint and worth checking out."
In summary, for those in Kenmore seeking a straightforward, classic teriyaki experience, Ichiban Teriyaki offers a consistent option. Its char-grilled chicken, balanced sauce, and simple menu are key draws. While service experiences may vary, its reputation as a reliable local spot for a quick and satisfying meal remains. If you’re looking for your next go-to "Teriyaki Near Me," Ichiban Teriyaki is definitely a place to consider for a taste of authentic Seattle-area teriyaki.

March 30 · Daniel H.Just moved to Kenmore, trying all the restaurants. Yesterday very disappointing, easily worst experience ever Ichiban Teriyaki. Lady taking order, very unfriendly! Free tea did not taste like tea at all. Chicken Breast dry no flavor, Stir fry more like soup no flavor, nothing fresh. Thought we would be served at table but she made it to go, wanted to eat there, asked for forks she gave us plastic forks. Guess our 15% tip was for putting in bag. All a very dark, not so nice experience, most all our food went in trash. Have to wonder where all the good reviews come from.
May 03 · Sue MeredithI came in this last Saturday and ordered Katsuo chicken meal. I asked for some extra Katsuo sauce and some teriyaki sauce and when I went home to sit down and eat my meal, the Katsuo chicken breading was soggy and all mushy and the sauces that I was given were four different kinds of sauces. I had three different mystery sauces that definitely weren’t Teriyaki and one of them even had seeds in it so yeah, I have no clue what any of them were besides the katsuo sauce. An I got all that for the wonderful price of $21.38. So I was not in the least bit satisfied with this place. I would not recommend it.
April 29 · Andrew PI would visit again for the Teriyaki and chicken Katsu but not the Yakisoba noodles. Good location and easy to find with parking out front. Also a decent selection of food options, kind and sweet service but the interior of the place needs an upgrade/clean. Solid 4 stars.
March 29 · Anna B WBeef Teriyaki. Not what I had in mind; but, it was good and I was grateful 🙏
