Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave of Tacoma Introduce
Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave of Tacoma, located at 3908 6th Ave C, Tacoma, WA 98406, USA, represents a local establishment offering Japanese and Asian-inspired cuisine. In the context of the "Doctor Near Me" platform category, which emphasizes convenient access to services or goods, Joy Teriyaki aims to provide a readily available dining option for those in the vicinity. This objective introduction will detail aspects of its environment, services, features, and any implied promotional information based on available customer feedback, providing a balanced perspective for potential patrons in the Tacoma area.
The environment of Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave of Tacoma, as inferred from customer reviews, suggests a functional and perhaps unembellished setting typical of a fast-casual eatery. While specific details about the decor or seating arrangements are not provided, the nature of the cuisine (teriyaki, General Tso's, Mongolian beef) often points to a setup geared towards quick service and efficiency. It is likely designed for customers seeking a convenient meal, whether for dine-in or takeout. The lack of extensive commentary on the ambiance usually means it's neither a significant deterrent nor a particular highlight, suggesting a practical, no-frills space. For individuals searching for a "Doctor Near Me" convenience for their culinary needs, the environment would primarily serve the purpose of providing a place to quickly obtain a meal rather than an elaborate dining experience. Customers are likely to prioritize speed and accessibility over a luxurious atmosphere, which aligns with the typical expectations for this type of establishment.
Service at Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave of Tacoma appears to be a point of considerable contention based on the provided reviews. One customer explicitly states, "the lady that took our order needs a lesson in customer service. She was very rude....." This strongly suggests inconsistencies in the customer service experience, with some patrons encountering unhelpful or impolite interactions. Furthermore, complaints about additional charges for common condiments like extra teriyaki sauce and soy sauce ($2) and even a cup of water ($4) indicate a policy that some customers find unreasonable and indicative of poor service practices. While some fast-casual establishments may have policies on extra charges, the communication and manner in which these are conveyed significantly impact customer perception. This aspect of service is crucial for a "Doctor Near Me" search, where the expectation is generally a smooth, helpful, and transparent transaction. The recorded negative feedback points to areas where the establishment could improve its customer interaction and policy communication to ensure a more consistent and positive experience for all patrons. In any service-oriented business, including restaurants, customer service significantly influences overall satisfaction and likelihood of repeat visits.
The features of Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave of Tacoma's menu appear to be quite broad, encompassing a mix of Japanese teriyaki and other Asian-inspired dishes, such as General Tso's chicken and Mongolian beef, alongside more contemporary offerings like poke bowls. However, the quality and consistency of these dishes seem to vary significantly according to customer feedback. One reviewer found the General Tso's "disgusting and tasted like ketchup," and the Mongolian beef lacking "seasoning or sauce." This indicates potential issues with recipe execution or ingredient quality for certain items. Conversely, the same reviewer's wife found her poke bowl "phenomenal," suggesting that some dishes may be significantly stronger than others. This dichotomy means that the dining experience at Joy Teriyaki might be "all over the board," depending on what is ordered. For those seeking a reliable and consistent meal, this inconsistency could be a point of concern. The inclusion of poke bowls, alongside traditional teriyaki and Chinese-American dishes, suggests an attempt to offer a diverse menu. However, the critical feedback on specific items, coupled with the high price points mentioned ($28 for a combination plate, $4 for water), raises questions about the value proposition for some offerings. For a "Doctor Near Me" search for food, consistency and predictable quality are often highly valued. The presence of both positive and negative feedback on different menu items means that while some dishes might be well-received, others might not meet customer expectations, impacting the overall perception of the restaurant's culinary features.
Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not explicitly mention any specific promotions, discounts, or loyalty programs offered by Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave of Tacoma. The focus of the customer feedback is primarily on the food quality, pricing, and service experience. The negative comments about high prices ("The prices were pretty high," "The dinner cost 28 dollars," "$4 for water") and additional charges for condiments could, in themselves, act as a deterrent rather than a promotion for some customers. In the absence of positive promotional details, the current reputation, as conveyed by these specific reviews, does not highlight value-driven offers. Establishments often use promotions to attract new customers and retain existing ones, but there is no indication of such efforts in the provided information. For a business operating under the "Doctor Near Me" umbrella, transparent pricing and perceived value are key factors that can either attract or deter customers. Without explicit promotional information, potential patrons would need to rely on their own assessment of the menu and pricing upon arrival or through other external sources. The phone number, (253) 201-0000, and mobile number, +1 253-201-0000, are available for direct inquiries about current offerings or specials.
In conclusion, Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave of Tacoma presents itself as a conveniently located Japanese and Asian-inspired eatery in Tacoma, WA. While it aims to serve the local community with accessible dining options, fitting the "Doctor Near Me" category for quick culinary solutions, the customer feedback highlights significant inconsistencies. The environment appears to be functional and geared towards efficiency. However, the service has been described as rude, with unexpected charges for common items. The food quality is also reported to be inconsistent, with some dishes receiving strong negative criticism while others, like the poke bowl, are praised. The lack of apparent promotional offers and the perception of high prices further contribute to a mixed overall impression. For those considering Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave of Tacoma, it would be advisable to manage expectations regarding service and to potentially inquire about menu items and pricing directly before visiting, as experiences can vary considerably.

Joy Teriyaki - 6th Ave of Tacoma Reviews
We came in pretty late, maybe that was the thing, but honestly it seemed like a pretty mid place. Food was all over the board, the general tso's was disgusting and tasted like ketchup, the Mongolian beef had no seasoning or sauce.... On the other hand my wife's poke bowl, she said was phenomenal. The prices were pretty high and I honestly would not have been brave enough to eat poke from this place. I dunno... I was gonna give it three stars but as I wrote this it sank to two... Don't waste your time.
May 18, 2025 · Michael SavageMy husband and I went here for dinner tonight after a long week at work. We don't go out to dinner often. The dinner cost 28 dollars. We ordered the combination plate , his chicken was made with buffalo sauce not generals chicken. We asked for some more teriyaki sauce and soy sauce which cost us another 2 dollars. After eating the dry rice , I asked for a cup of water. She told me it was 4$. Save your money and go somewhere else. The portion for are meal was ridiculous. I usually let things go but I have to say something of our experience there. And the lady that took are order needs a lesson in customer service. She was very rude.....
Apr 19, 2025 · Alicia AnnperrinI ordered 38 $ worth of hard old chicken. Most of our dinner went in the garbage. This place use to be very good not no more they have went down hill. I wouldn’t recommend anybody.
May 20, 2025 · Alicia LinHad high hopes of a good meal. However, the chicken chow mein was lackluster. There's a lack of seasoning in the 3-4 small pieces of chicken and the meal is hinged upon the sauce that's at the bottom of the dish. My friend was supposed to have teriyaki plate and paid extra for fries rice but was given steamed rice. Overall, not a place I'd recommend nor return to.4-5-2025 -The owners response actually made me downgrade my review from 2 stars to 1 star. I did go the 6th ave. Location. They tried to suggest that I was mistaken on where I ate. Sorry Charlie! I know where I ate!
Apr 06, 2025 · Thunder CloudSmall atmosphere. They charge for soy sauce & siracha packets. Even after ridiculously high priced meals. I've gotten more for my money other places. The food was fresh but it wasn't as good as I hoped.Too expensive. Unpleasantly unsatisfied with the notes on the wall saying $1.00 for sauce packets when I paid $20 for chicken and white rice. Fried rice & noodles upgrades are $6.00. I'm not going back.
