Kimura Reviews
Great ambiance, terrible food. I have mixed feelings about Kimura. On one hand, the building itself is absolutely stunning—old modern, rustic warehouse style, and well-designed. It’s one of those places you walk into and immediately feel like you’re in a trendy hotspot.Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The food was a huge disappointment. I came in with zero expectations, and the meal was nothing short of awful. The gyoza dishes we ordered were soggy, ramen over-seasoned, and very difficult to eat. The textures were off, and nothing felt fresh or flavorful. The service was excellent, and we really appreciated that. It was the highlight of our experience at Kumura and made our time there worthwhile.
Mar 03, 2025 · Emily Ann IbarraWe stopped by for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were seated right away—plenty of indoor and outdoor seating made for a comfortable experience. From the start, the service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the menu in detail, making us feel well taken care of ❤️✨
May 25, 2025 · Kaylin NguyenWe had been there for dinner a few times and enjoyed Kimura, so I was excited when I was in the area for lunch.I got the Teriyaki chicken and switched the sweet tea for a Topo. I was a little shocked to get the total of $21.57, when the lunch meal was listed for $12. I understand charging uber eats a takeout fee but I was ordering and heading back to the office. The chicken was burnt and just edible. The service wasn’t rude but also wasn’t pleasant. I regret adding a tip.Definitely won’t be back for lunch.
Apr 08, 2025 · nick sinopoliKimura ramenThe broth was so creamy and flavorful. I couldn't believe how smooth it was.The noodles obviously were not generic. They had a good texture to them and they were not bland at all.The pork belly was very tender and delicious. They were very thick pieces compared to other places but I felt that gave it a nice looking presentation to the ramen. As you can see there is no egg so that saved me $10 off my total. Just kidding. They were out of eggs due to the whole egg debacle going on.I also added grilled shrimp for fun and it was very delicious. It was served on a skewer which they added on top my ramen.Since it was my first time, they gave me a complimentary dumpling that had a very thin layer of cornstarch for a crunchiness taste.I am very pleased with this place and their food.
Mar 17, 2025 · Krom GreatestOverall, I was pretty impressed! The Tonkotsu ramen was seriously good. That broth? So rich and creamy, like a warm hug in a bowl. And the pork chasu? Seriously tasty and probably one of the best I've had in San Antonio. I also grabbed some onigiri on the side, and those were yummy too – a nice little bite. The place itself has a really nice vibe. There's tons of space, so whether you're flying solo or rolling with a whole crew, you'll find a spot. Plus, the people working there are super friendly and helpful, which always makes things better. Now, here's the one thing that kinda stuck out to me – everything was a little on the salty side. Like, really salty. The ramen, the onigiri... it all had a good kick of salt. If you're not a big fan of salt – it's something to keep in mind! If they could dial back the salt a bit, this place would be a total winner for me.
