Kingyubu Introduce
For us Angelenos, especially those of us who love exploring the diverse culinary landscape of Koreatown, discovering truly unique and delicious eateries is a constant delight. Among the vibrant array of restaurants, Kingyubu stands out as an absolute gem. This cozy and inviting spot has carved a niche for itself by specializing in an incredibly creative and flavorful take on "yubu chobap" – a traditional Korean dish consisting of seasoned rice stuffed into crispy, deep-fried tofu pockets. But don't let the simplicity of the concept fool you; Kingyubu elevates this humble dish into an art form, making it a must-try for anyone seeking fresh, exciting flavors.
Kingyubu is not just about a single dish; it's an experience built on fresh ingredients, imaginative combinations, and a commitment to deliciousness. Imagine tender, seasoned rice tucked into a slightly sweet, chewy tofu skin, then crowned with an array of delectable toppings ranging from spicy salmon and savory bulgogi to unique mentaiko crab. Every bite is designed to be a burst of flavor, and customers consistently rave about how "delicious and fresh" the food is, often devouring their orders "within 2 minutes" because it's simply "so good and flavorful."
Beyond the innovative yubu chobap, Kingyubu also offers a selection of hand rolls, sushi rolls, and other Korean comfort foods, ensuring there’s something for every craving. The welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and surprisingly reasonable prices—especially for the quality and creativity on offer—make it a favorite among locals. For us in California looking for a casual yet exceptional dining experience that blends Korean and Japanese influences seamlessly, Kingyubu in Koreatown is a definite 10/10 experience and a place you'll want to return to again and again.

For those of us in Los Angeles who rely on public transportation, Koreatown is very well-connected. Numerous Metro bus lines serve the area, and the Metro D Line (Purple Line) has stations like Wilshire/Normandie or Wilshire/Western within walking distance or a short bus ride. This makes it a great option for a hassle-free visit without dealing with traffic or parking challenges.
For diners who choose to drive, parking in Koreatown can sometimes be a consideration, as is common in many dense urban areas of Los Angeles. However, Kingyubu is located in a small business plaza, and street parking might be available in the vicinity. Additionally, there are often paid parking lots and structures within Koreatown, though it's always advisable to check local parking apps or services for the most current information and rates. Apr 16, 2025 · Michael TaklaDelicious and fresh food. I ate them all within 2 minutes, it was so good and flavorful. The price is right for the quality, I give it 5/5. This is a good spot, ignore the haters. In Los Angeles it is not easy to open a business. Congratulations to the business owner, Happy New Year and bless you 대하민구. 🇺🇲 🇰🇷 Aigoo 맛있어요.
Mar 31, 2025 · Honest CustomerFood was great. The price is a bit on the high end for me personally for the amount of food they give, especially the "mini" cup bap. They had one really friendly lady and one not as friendly lady by the counter. Will be back to try other yubu options.
Apr 28, 2025 · James HsuThe moment I took a bite, I was absolutely shocked by how delicious it was! Every ingredient was fresh, and the flavors were perfectly balanced to bring out the best in each dish.It was the same authentic Korean food that you would have in Korea!10 out of 10—highly recommend! :)
Jan 31, 2025 · Jae Gwang LeeFirst time here. Watched viral video with their food and decided to try. The parking situation is pretty bad - on a holiday it all was packed - I cant imagine whats happening on weekdays. Very clean inside, nice korean lounge music, great service. I got 3 the most popular yubi - salmon, bulgogi and eel. You need to use the paper holders otherwise everything will be falling apart. Thats what happened to me until I noticed those holders when I finished my lunch already lol. Ingredients are fresh, rice and a crepe wrap are a little sweet and delicious. They give you a small cup of miso soup. The price is reasonable. Recommended
