Kinza Teriyaki has been serving the Spanaway community since 2002, building a reputation for its consistent flavors and generous portions.
Kinza Teriyaki offers a casual dining experience, making it suitable for a relaxed meal. The atmosphere is generally welcoming, with some reviews describing it as a "cozy" and "clean" establishment. The noise levels during peak hours are typically average, creating a comfortable environment for conversation. The interior is noted for being well-designed and nicely arranged with comfortable seating. While some sources mention outdoor seating, specific details on its availability or setup are limited. The restaurant also provides a private parking lot, with bike parking and wheelchair access, aiming to accommodate a wide range of visitors. It’s considered a good place to visit for lunch or dinner, whether you are dining with kids or a large group.
Kinza Teriyaki provides a variety of services to enhance the dining experience. Beyond dine-in, they offer convenient takeout options, which many patrons appreciate for its efficiency. The restaurant is generally known for its fast service, with some customers remarking on how quickly their orders are prepared. For example, one review highlighted that the cook started preparing their food before they even finished paying. The staff is often described as friendly, courteous, and efficient in taking orders. While the restaurant offers beer and wine, it does not feature a full bar. Delivery services are also available through third-party platforms like Uber Eats.
Kinza Teriyaki distinguishes itself with a diverse menu that blends both Japanese and Korean cuisines. This allows for a wide range of options, catering to various palates. Their signature dish, and a consistent favorite among customers, is the Teriyaki. Patrons often praise the generous portions, stating that the servings are substantial and often provide enough for leftovers. This makes it a good value for money for many diners.
Some of the highly recommended dishes include:
- Short Rib Teriyaki: This dish is frequently highlighted for its succulent, expertly cooked meat and rich, savory teriyaki sauce. Many describe it as a "melt-in-your-mouth experience" with generous amounts of meat.
- Spicy Chicken Teriyaki: For those who enjoy a bit of heat, the spicy chicken teriyaki is a popular choice, balanced with enough spice to provide a kick without overwhelming the other flavors. It often comes with extra teriyaki sauce upon request.
- Korean Fried Chicken: Kinza Teriyaki offers various Korean dishes, including a well-regarded Korean Fried Chicken, which is noted for its crispy texture and flavorful seasoning.
- Bulgogi and Bibimbap: These traditional Korean staples are also available and have received positive feedback from customers.
- Gyoza and Egg Rolls: Appetizers like deep-fried pork and vegetable dumplings (Gyoza) and crispy egg rolls are popular choices to start a meal.
The menu also features other teriyaki options like beef, pork, salmon, and prawn teriyaki, as well as various stir-fries, noodle dishes like Yakisoba and Udon, and a selection of poke bowls. They also offer some unique items like Honey Garlic Chicken and K-Pop Tofu. Overall, the food is often described as fresh, well-cooked, and flavorful, embodying warmth and tradition.
While specific ongoing promotions are not publicly detailed, the restaurant's emphasis on generous portions at a reasonable price point often acts as a draw for customers seeking good value. Many reviews express satisfaction with the overall quality of food and the amount received for the cost, often stating it's "worth the price" compared to other local establishments. The consistent positive feedback regarding the friendly and accommodating staff also contributes to a positive perception of the restaurant.
However, it is important to note that customer experiences can vary. While many reviews praise the food and service, at least one review highlighted significant dissatisfaction regarding a plate fee for takeout and an owner's perceived lack of concern, also mentioning a cleanliness issue in the restroom. This indicates that while many find the service to be "top-notch" and the owners "so friendly," there can be isolated instances of negative customer interactions. Most feedback, however, points to a generally positive dining experience, with patrons becoming repeat customers due to the quality of the food and the accommodating nature of the staff.
Kinza Teriyaki is considered a cherished staple in the community for its blend of invigorating flavors, substantial servings, and a generally welcoming atmosphere. Its long-standing presence since 2002 further suggests a consistent track record of serving the local population.

Kinza Teriyaki Reviews
Money faced restaurant. Why do you have to charge a plate fee of .50 cents? You mean to tell me I have to buy the utensils to eat at your restaurant? When I asked why .50 cents, Because the prices are high tariffs. lol, what a ridiculous reason, watch their people walking and they won’t charge those ridiculous fees. I should’ve known better walking in this restaurant just by the owners attitude, they were no good, customer service would not even be 1 star. Another thing, as the guy owner was charging me .50 cents after not finishing my food and asking for a to go plate, I told him that it was the last time I’d eat there, can you imagine he shrugged his shoulders as if he didn’t care and proceeded to charge me. Wow, I should charge them for seeing a cockroach their restroom. I will never eat at this restaurant again, it’s the worse customer service.
May 21, 2025 · Vincent SablanThe owners were so friendly that it left me wanting to write a good review! The food was amazingggg!! It was so fresh and quickly made, the cook started before we finished paying.
Oct 11, 2024 · Nicole NewlinI’ve been going to this place a long time, but the quality of food has declined over the years. The service is great. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, but the quality of the food isn’t as good as they used to be. I wish they would do better considering there was only two eateries in this section.
Feb 28, 2025 · Anthony hollowayMy order was half of a regular order. We ordered teriyaki and got a soy sauce meal that was not good at all . It was definatly not teriyaki. Had a very weird taste that we threw our meals away . Will not return .
May 03, 2025 · Shawn ChristensenBest and most unique sweet and sour chicken I’ve ever had! Loved the teriyaki as well! Will definitely come back.
