Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya (Carmel) Reviews
First time ate here and it was an unpleasant experience. Greeted by this skinny middle-aged asian woman, and she led us to our seat and we saw lots of empty seats, but instead, she put us right in the middle of the walkway where the toilets are. Like why?? And when i ask to be seated somewhat not in the way, her immediate response was "where?!". I was asking nicely and her face was annoyed as if i asked something lunatic. The taste of ramen is actually okay, but the way they serve it tho, the thumbs of the server gets into the bowl, yes she wore vinyl gloves, but that icks me off. I got very bad indigestion after eating here. Won't come back, don't worry
March 24 · SoleilWe went to Kizuki for the devour Indy winterfest and had a fantastic time! The service was quick and friendly and the food was excellent. We started with the pork gyoza and chicken karage. The gyoza came with a nice vinegar based sauce that complemented it well and the chicken karage were perfectly crispy. The spicy mayo was perfect for dipping as well. They were out of their most popular ramen which was disappointing but I ordered the Yuzu Shio ramen instead and was pleasantly surprised. The citrus was the perfect flavor profile to go with the fatty pork and greens that came in the dish. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the portion was a good size. We ordered green tea to drink which they came and refilled multiple times which was a nice touch. Overall an excellent restaurant if you’re looking for ramen in the area.
January 27 · Charles VegaHighly disappointing experience. Was recommended to this location by multiple friends that I trust. Chicken karaage was great, 4 big chunks of juicy breaded chicken. Garlic Tonkotsu Shoryu ramen just wasn't that amazing. Chicken ramen was pretty good and you can taste the chicken. My soft boiled egg was presented damaged ( I assume during the peeling process) and was not "whole". Service was decent in the beginning but they were offering a free ramune drink if you buy their $50 gift card which the server did not mention. It was on a paper advertisement on the window of the entrance. I regret leaving 20% tip.
December 06 · John WanHere for their devour Indy menu, great price for the food and drink. Now, the truth is, I won’t pay the original price $19 for the ramen. The flavor was not bad, but not at that level.
September 02 · Julie ZhuCame here with a friend who was from Japan and he commented about how it was just like back home. I had so much food! Ramen was very good and I suggest a karaage chicken. We were stuffed when we left. I would recommend this to anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine.
