Kura Sushi Revolving Sushi Bar Reviews
Revolting Sushi! Horrible, I mean bad! Strange looking postage stamp size portions. The menu is 40 inches away on a tiny screen to order. A conveyor belt moves food past you and everyone else , with no prices. Tried the Miso Ramen, yuk puke , 99 cent instant better, gross. Didn't have the special, no help or service designed that way not the kids. No just no never again
Apr 20, 2025 · KENNETH ASHWe decided to check out this new sushi place. It was conveniently located and easy to get to, plus there is plenty of free parking in the Smith Haven Mall. The interior is quite attractive and the staff was very friendly. Our server kindly showed us to our table and explained how to order, how the food would be delivered, how to open the lids and where to put the used plates. This information is really helpful, especially for someone who is new to this type of place. We had no problem placing our order and it arrived quickly. Everything was good. The kids will especially love watching the robot deliver the drinks! The miso soup looked delicious, but unfortunately I could only eat one spoonful as it was too salty for my taste. The server took it away without any questions and we were not charged for it.Overall, this is a unique place with a varied menu.It is worth a visit for the experience, but it probably won’t be my favorite sushi place for now.
Oct 26, 2024 · Natalia IlinaI had an absolutely wonderful experience at Kura Sushi Revolving Sushi Bar! I visited on a Monday, and it was fairly quiet, so the wait time was minimal. Based on the layout and vibe of the place, I imagine it gets much busier over the weekend, so reservations might be a smart move if you plan to go then. The rotating sushi setup is definitely a unique and fun concept. It's not your typical sushi restaurant, and the novelty of picking dishes off the conveyor belt adds to the excitement of the visit. The food was good, with a wide variety of sushi to choose from. While I wouldn’t say it’s as fresh as some traditional sushi spots, it was still satisfying, and the experience as a whole makes up for it.Be mindful when choosing, though—it’s easy to fill up quickly! I also tried their shrimp tempura udon soup, and it was absolutely delicious and filling. The fact that they offer options like udon alongside sushi is a nice touch for anyone wanting something warm and hearty. One of the highlights was the little robot that delivered our drinks. It was a charming novelty and something I think kids would love—it really gave the whole place a Tokyo-inspired atmosphere. The bench-style seating was comfortable, but it might be limiting for larger groups. I didn’t ask, but it didn’t seem like there were many tables accommodating parties larger than four.Overall, this is a great spot for anyone who loves sushi and wants to try something different. The experience is super fun, and the food is enjoyable. Highly recommend checking it out—especially during quieter times!
Jan 28, 2025 · Ikraam AslamOur visit to this Kura Sushi location was disappointing on every level. When we arrived, there were already four parties waiting ahead of us—yet plenty of seats were visibly empty. Despite this, the restaurant staff kept everyone waiting instead of seating customers promptly. It was an unnecessary and frustrating delay.Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of the poor experience. Over 80% of the conveyor belt plates were empty, which defeats the entire purpose of a conveyor sushi restaurant. Staple items like uni (sea urchin) and toro (fatty tuna) were nowhere to be found on the menu. We ordered scallops, only to be told after a long wait that they were unavailable too. The selection of beef sushi was significantly reduced compared to previous visits, and the amaebi (sweet shrimp) was far from fresh. To make matters worse, we even found a sushi plate on the conveyor that was missing the salmon entirely (see attached photo). Such careless mistakes are unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone one with Kura’s reputation.I strongly urge Kura Sushi’s headquarters to shut down this branch for immediate review and restructuring. It is currently failing to meet even the most basic expectations.
May 21, 2025 · Baodi ShanA fun place with a gamified aspect to eating. Every 15 plates releases a mystery keychain from a gachapon machine. That would be tough eating alone, but with a group you will definitely get at least one. Some reviews have complained about the wait and lack of food in the trays. The food availability is going to depend on where you are seated, time of day, and staffing. We went during dinner on a Friday. The wait was only about 15 minutes. Despite being seated at the very end of the conveyor belt rotation, (which we asked for a back corner so it was fine) we still got plenty of food and only ordered from the touch screen for certain items a couple of times for a group of four. Folks in our group who have been here before have noted there was less food the last time they went near closing time.As others said, the fish can be hit or miss. For example, the snow crab had no flavor and was watery. It has been frozen (which makes sense), but I can tell they were rushing to defrost and rinsed out all the flavor. But there were other sushi that were really good (tiger roll was great, the salmon with the garlic or the umami oil was good) For dessert, the taiyaki with ice cream was fantastic, the taiyaki was fried well and sweet, especially paired with the ice cream. The Warabimochi had a great silky texture, with a nice nutty flavor.I will most likely come back, but may be a bit more selective in my sushi choices.
