Kyoto Ramen Reviews
So I stopped in this place, Kyoto Ramen, expecting the standard ramen flair and I was wowed by the ambiance. Now the ramen was very good, but the decor in this place had you feeling like a Tokyo gaming Shibuya Crossing at night Yakuza bar, without the danger, of course, lol. The ramen was delicious, but if you're not mesmerized by the 12 panel monitor, or the bar length, playing space themed animated videos, are you even looking? The food was good, and had the beef ramen, with additional accoutrement add-ins, but seriously, I was always looking at the video monitors. This place can be overwhelming to the senses, and hopefully the flavor of the ramen is one of them but certainly the visuals are a part of them. I would say it's not cheap, maybe $20 per person though if you minimize your add-ins, it's probably pretty standard price for a good Lake County lunch. The ramen was served quick and hot and the service was good but remember to push the button to get ahold of your server for immediate attention. I hope this place does well because it's a unique place in the area. Enjoy!!
Jan 30, 2025 · joe mMy Gf and I stopped in for lunch. Vibes are chill. service was great and fast. I had the Spicy Miso. Was Delicious. Gf had beef also very good. Important note: I have an egg allergy and was able to eat the ramen here. Just let them know when ordering.
Feb 09, 2025 · Hot DogLoved the service and atmosphere here. It was a little pricey for the amount of food and portion but over all good experience. I don’t think I will be going back. It was more of a one time thing.
Apr 26, 2025 · Niko TelliosVisited Kyoto Ramen 5 days after their grand opening. We were seated immediately for dinner on a weekday. Inside is Asian themed and with some anime decor. Our waiter greeted us fairly quickly. Two of the appetizers we wanted to order they did not have. We opted for shrimp tempura. They tasted exactly like the frozen ones from Costco. When our appetizer came, we had to flag down a waiter for plates. The plates they gave us were paper plates. We were also given plastic forks. This gave off a very food court vibe. If I'm dining in, I expect to be using silverware and regular plates! We ordered Miso Ramen and Tonkotsu Ramen. They were both mediocre at best. Soup for both ramen were warm and not hot. The chashu (pork belly) was all full of fat. Barely any meat on it. It was not good. I’ve had better.A great addition to Gurnee but I have no desire dining here again.
Nov 25, 2024 · Alice HFirst of all , the Karage chicken is not pop corn chicken. Let me tell you something, I went in to order a Miso ramen for 17.99,the broth was medium, the chashu is just a huge cunk of fat with a quarter side piece of pork. The noodles are not fresh like other ramen shops that I've been to for less people. Honestly, don't waste your money in this location, and trust me, I'm not trying to be a hater, but this one really got me F up. Here are a few recommendations if you doubt my taste, please visit ((kitakata)) in Schaumburg or ((Ramen house)) in Vernon Hills. You will not be disappointed, and guess what? only 14 dollars and real Karage chickens. Honestly, kioto ramen go by people's ignorance and take advantage(in my opinion), but for 17 dollars for a bowl of ramen, it's insulting.
