Apr 29, 2025 · Scott LeeI used to live near her, and my family and I would stop by the plaza for dinner and a stroll around the shops. Today, I visited the 99 Ranch for the first time and my daughter wanted to eat here, and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. I got the Tonkatsu, with a fried sweet potato, and it was nice. I was glad the fish based broth didn't have a fishy taste, and it was perfectly seasoned, and the noodles were good. We will definitely return to Marugame Udon!
May 25, 2025 · Eric HartmanThis is an udon shop that always has massive lines at their Hawaii and Sawtelle, LA locations, so of course I had to try their newest restaurant in Aliso Viejo! You can watch them make their fresh udon from scratch and assemble the bowls right in front of you. And don't forget to grab your own tempura!Portions are filling and super affordable, especially for California standards, with bowls starting at just $5.95(!!), and they even have a curry broth option and rice bowls. In my honest opinion, not overrated. Have you ever had handmade udon like this before? Thanks for reading! ^-^

I ordered Curry Nikutama, the rest of my group ordered a variety such as Teriyaki chicken katsu bowl, Nikutama, dumplings etc. Everything was delicious. Oh they have calamansi juice and it has perfect sweetness and sourness. The restaurant was very open and it has many seating inside and outside. The staff make sure to keep the tables clean. I I highly recommend this place.
