Matsunori Handroll Bar Reviews
Delicious. Love the umami flavor combinations in the hand rolls, and especially enjoyed the salmon cups. Portions are relatively small, and if you order more of the premium hand rolls, price can be quite high. But each hand roll is generously stuffed with large servings of fish. Nothing especially fancy except premium, high quality ingredients.
August 03 · Terrence WuUnfortunately only took photos of the cod rolls but all of the hand rolls that I tried were delicious and well crafted. They time it so that as soon as you finish the roll in front of you they bring you the next one you ordered. The yellowtail was my favorite with little rice puffs and scallions. Reasonable priced considering the care put into each roll, I would definitely come again.
August 15 · Alec RamirezWe were super excited to try this spot 🤩 It has a very cool and casual vibe. Perfect for a low-key date night, rather than a special occasion. Note there are no alcaholic drinks and the menu beyond hand rolls is fairly limited. The hand rolls are delicious and the fish quality was excellent! The portion sizes are on the smaller side. We had 8 hand rolls each, and still left hungry. Fun and tasty experience but be prepared to order extra and spend more if you’re hungry!Recommendations: Miso Cod, Blue Crab, Spicy Tuna, Uni, and Scallop!
June 30 · ClaireMatsunori basically only serves handrolls (and a few apps), but I have no complaints about that because their handrails are fantastic! I ordered the Mango Salmon (bright, sweet), the Toro Cucumber (crunchy, perfectly fatty), and my favorite, the Miso Butter Cod (RICH, decadent, smooth). All the rolls were super fresh and high quality. Also, I sipped on a hojicha through my meal, which was yummy; it tasted like roasted tea and chocolate. I ended off the night with a matcha tiramisu, and as a massive bitter matcha lover, I thought it was excellent, and not TOO sweet. Overall, the vibes were good, the staff was efficient and so nice, and the chefs were so quick! I was by myself and got seated right away, but other times I’ve arrived with company, the wait was around 20 minutes, or over an hour during busy times. Since you can’t make reservations, I would suggest coming in small groups (1-3), ready to wait if it’s a high-volume time.
August 19 · Eva FormanI’ve always wanted to try out this place and finally got to visit with friends. We loved all the hand rolls we ordered — well made, tasted good and good portion, none of them disappointed us. The price is a bit too high but it’s worth it. Wait time could be long and not too many seatings inside.
