Some menus suggest they have both traditional dining tables and potentially hibachi seating. However, recent customer reviews indicate that at times, dining-in might be rushed, particularly closer to closing time.
Hibachi Dining: A prominent feature of Mikado is its hibachi service. Here, chefs prepare meals on a teppanyaki grill right at the table, offering an interactive and entertaining dining experience. Their menu lists Teppanyaki Lunch and Teppanyaki Dinner options, including various combinations like steak, chicken, shrimp, and scallops.

Japanese Kitchen Entrees: Beyond sushi and hibachi, the menu includes traditional Japanese dishes such as Teriyaki (Chicken, Beef, Shrimp, Salmon, Sea Scallop), Don & Katsu (Tekka Don, Sake Don, Unaju Don, Chicken Katsu, Pork Katsu), and Tempura (Vegetable, Chicken, Shrimp, Seafood). However, it's also important to note areas that have been highlighted as concerns by some customers. Issues mentioned in reviews include:
Service Consistency: Some reviews point to inconsistencies in service, with experiences ranging from feeling rushed to staff being inattentive or even questioning tip amounts. This can significantly impact the dining atmosphere.
Restaurant Cleanliness/Maintenance: Concerns were raised regarding the cleanliness and smell of the restrooms, which can be a significant deterrent for diners. One review specifically mentioned a "horrible" smell and a non-flushing toilet.
Food Quality (Sub-Par in Some Instances): While some online reviews on delivery platforms indicate satisfaction with dishes like "boneless ribs" and "salmon," the provided direct reviews describe hibachi food as "sub-par at best." This suggests potential variability in food quality depending on the dish and dining experience (e.g., hibachi vs. regular dining/takeout).
Noise Level: One review mentioned a "high noise level," which might affect the comfort of the dining experience, especially for larger groups or during busy times.

Mikado Restaurant Reviews
I honestly dislike leaving bad reviews but if I could give this place zero stars, I would. First of all, we walked in an hour and a half before closing and only ordered sushi and appetizers so we were out in less than 40 minutes. The waitress was rushing us, the restroom smelled so bad I had to cover my nose when I used it and I’m not talking about a bad smell, IT WAS HORRIBLE! The restroom was the first red flag but I decided to give it a chance anyway. We ate and did not feel comfortable leaving a tip but the waitress literally forced us to leave it after we said multiple times we didn’t feel comfortable doing so. We did it anyways and walked out with the biggest disappointment ever but didn’t let that ruin our night. There are other great similar places in Beverly, please don’t waste your time and money here.
Apr 08, 2025 · Karol FelizThis was one of my worst restaurant experiences. We had a group of ten from work for Habachi. From the waiter giving us a hard time about separate checks, the waiter not being able to hear over the high noise level and us having to repeat our orders 3-4 time before he got it right, to him ignoring us he never asked if anyone needed more drinks and kept busy sweeping near our table. The food was sub-par at best. Our waiter even told one person that she couldn’t order her meal from the menu but had to order Hibachi. WHAT!! The bathrooms have a sewer smell in them and the toilet I used was installed at a strange angle and didn’t flush. As we were leaving the waiter questioned the amount of the tip that was left, I’ve never seen a waiter question the amount of a tip. The service was bad, the food was bad I highly recommend that you don’t go there, there are plenty of other restaurants in this area. The rudeness of the staff we encountered definitely changed the atmosphere and we just wanted eat, drink and have a good time.
