I usually see a decent line here so I was expecting one and was ready to wait 20 min ish. But we got lucky and were able to get seated asap. Took a bit to get our orders in but food came out pretty quick. The mazemen were great. Enough sauce to finish the noodles perfectly and still have enough to mix in the rice! Noodles were bouncy and thick; really good texture overall. I recommend to give it a try if you like japanese noodles. - pan s

Mogumogu Introduce

For Californians, especially those navigating the diverse and exciting culinary scene of Los Angeles, the discovery of a truly unique and satisfying Japanese dining experience is always a treat. Enter Mogumogu, a popular Japanese restaurant that has quickly carved out a niche for itself by specializing in mazemen – a delightful, broth-less style of Japanese noodles that offers a concentrated burst of flavor in every bite. This "hole in the wall gem" near Sawtelle is already drawing lines, a testament to its burgeoning popularity and exceptional food.

Mogumogu's mazemen has garnered enthusiastic praise from locals. Customers consistently highlight the noodles themselves, describing them as "bouncy and thick" with "really good texture overall." But it's the rich, savory sauce that truly makes the dish shine, with one reviewer noting there's "Enough sauce to finish the noodles perfectly and still have enough to mix in the rice!" This clever integration of rice at the end to "clean up the soup" (or rather, the remaining sauce) is a unique and much-appreciated touch, adding another layer to the dining experience.

Among the popular choices, the Deluxe Mazemen is a standout, hailed as a "good deal" for the generous portions and numerous toppings provided for under $20. The inclusion of a perfectly "runny egg" and the option to add vinegar for a "mix of sweet and savory" flavors demonstrates Mogumogu's attention to detail and ability to offer a customizable, dynamic taste profile. Beyond the food, the restaurant’s "super nice staff" and "clean wooden aesthetic" contribute to a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, making the wait (which can be around 20 minutes due to its popularity) entirely "worth it!"

For locals seeking an authentic and innovative Japanese noodle experience that goes beyond traditional ramen, Mogumogu is a must-try. Its dedication to the unique mazemen style, coupled with a focus on quality ingredients and friendly service, makes it a true culinary highlight in the vibrant Los Angeles food landscape.

Location and Accessibility

Mogumogu is conveniently located at 11555 W Olympic Blvd suite b, Los Angeles, CA 90064, USA. This address places it strategically on West Olympic Boulevard, a major thoroughfare in West Los Angeles, nestled near the bustling Sawtelle Japantown district. While not directly on Sawtelle Boulevard itself, its proximity makes it easily accessible to those familiar with or visiting the area's renowned Japanese culinary offerings.

The restaurant's location offers excellent connectivity for those traveling from various parts of Los Angeles. West Olympic Boulevard is a key arterial road that provides straightforward access to major freeways such as the I-10 (Santa Monica Freeway) and the I-405 (San Diego Freeway). This means that whether you're commuting from downtown, the San Fernando Valley, or coastal cities like Santa Monica, reaching Mogumogu is a relatively convenient drive.

Regarding parking, as with many popular eateries in dense urban areas like West Los Angeles, finding a spot can sometimes require a bit of patience. Mogumogu is located within a suite, suggesting it might be part of a larger commercial complex. While it might not have its own dedicated, private parking lot, there are generally several options in the vicinity. Street parking, both metered and unmetered, can be found along West Olympic Boulevard and on adjacent side streets. Additionally, there may be public parking garages or lots within a reasonable walking distance in the surrounding commercial areas. It is always advisable to allow extra time for parking, especially during peak lunch and dinner hours.

The "hole in the wall gem" description hints at a perhaps more understated exterior, but its popularity ensures it's a known destination for locals. Its location near Sawtelle means diners can also enjoy the broader vibrant atmosphere of Japanese shops and restaurants in the area.

Services Offered

Mogumogu specializes in mazemen, a unique broth-less ramen, and offers a concise yet impactful menu designed around this concept and complementary Japanese dishes.
