New Japan Location
New Japan Reviews
Ate there last night and I think I got food poisoning from there. The food wasn't awful but i won't be back. The quality just isn't there at all. Rubbery chicken, flavorless steak, mushy textured rice and my California roll looked like it was from a grocery store.
May 02 · JacquelynActually…. Not a bad place at all! Very similar, if not the same restaurant, located on Durham by Hillsborough Road (on 147), but overall very good! The white sauce does lack a bit of flavor compared to other locations, but it does taste like the usual ingredients for the white/yum yum sauce recipe: mayonnaise, maybe even butter, and some condiment like paprika and vinegar I think (I used to work at a couple of Chinese food restaurants) but it also depends on personal preference. I’m writing and giving a review based on my experience. Overall, I do recommend. When we called for pickup the lady on the phone did say that it was going to be about a 20 minute wait, so do order ahead of time. We got there in about 25 minutes, but the food was still warm (not burning hot, but it was still very good) portion was GREAT, I got full with less than half of the plate.I also suggest checking out the little sauce station to get extra sauces if you wanted more or just ask for more, I think they charge for extra but I’m not 100% sure, and utensils and napkins are also available in the same area by the sauce-filling-station. I will be coming back. Thank you for the service and the food.
July 21 · Ana DMFood quality is good but the fried chicken wings are so salty. Good environment to eat inside. Free parking space.
April 07 · Ivy ChenI've eaten here once and I don't want to eat here again. I got the teriyaki chicken. All of it was fatty dark meat chicken and it was gross. The teriyaki sauce was a medium brown instead of the traditional almost black, thick sauce. Maybe it was homemade, but unfortunately it wasn't very good.Perhaps other items on the menu are good, but I just can't recommend their food when there are other and better Asian cuisine restaurants. On the positive side, the restaurant is really nice and new looking.
November 07 · Lindsey WDecent food if you ever get the right order. Horrible service.
