Ocean San Sushi LLC / Bones-n-Shells Reviews
Ordered sushi for takeout. This place was incredible when it was a standalone restaurant, and still was shortly after it integrated with the bar next door.As of Jan 2025, I won't be back. The sushi has taken a noticeable dive in quality, and the atmosphere inside felt totally offputting and uninspired. The glass showcase displaying the raw fish was covered in fingerprints, the staff couldn't be bothered to interact, and overall the sushi side of the restaurant just felt forgotten. The bar side food (cheeseburger sub and fries) was pretty good. I think the sushi part of the biz doesn't get the attention it deserves. Overall, dissapointed.
Jan 17, 2025 · Austin RevelsThis was my first visit. Overall, my friend and I enjoyed our visit. The restaurant is very clean and has a comfortable atmosphere. Waitress was good/professional. Things we think have room for improvement: The dynamite roll was too wide. The mushrooms in the shitake mushroom roll were overcooked or preserved: the mushrooms lacked any texture.
Jan 30, 2022 · Angela CocoThis place is nestled in the corner of a small shopping center. Though it is small it has a very nice inside. Now I'm not a sushi connoisseur but I do eat sushi at least three times a week. The shumai were LARGE I mean at least double the size of the ones sold in a majority of restaurants. Flavor wasn't bad though the wrapping was a little doughy. The shrimp tempura rolls were normal size but the tempura was soft with no crispness and the eel sauce they used was very thin causing it to saturate the rice and leave a small puddle at the bottom of the plate. Dynamite Rolls weren't bad taste wise but the fish was over cooked making it tough. I'm not saying don't come here but if you are a tad bit of a sushi snob this is not the place for you.
Oct 10, 2017 · LeiaDidnt have sushi but turf side was good. The kids baked mac and the shrimp platter were great. Roast beef sandwich, I'm pretty sure that gravy was homemade. Either good eats here. Thank you, we'll be back
Jul 31, 2023 · Quan OrrMy significant other and I went here for a date night last night. I was surprised to see a sushi place in York I hadn't already heard of or been to, tucked away neatly in the little shopping center I know typically for the Corner Stable restaurant. It's a cozy, unassuming restaurant with a very clean, modern look to it. The service was fantastic- I don't think we ever really had to ask for beverage refills (they were ON it!).My significant other ordered the Rainbow roll and a California roll, and I ordered the spicy seafood udon, and the first thing we had noticed was that the prices were a bit higher than we were used to. Then the food arrived, and we realized that this was exactly where that money went to.The seafood is fresh (some items marked as market price), and exceedingly high quality. I have never had mussels that size (and no sand/grit!), shrimp that well-prepared (impeccably butterflied, no tail), or sushi of that magnitude. Even the California roll (the most basic of basics) was flavorful beyond anything I've had in a very long time. The average meal appears to be about $20, but honestly, it's very worth it. Don't be afraid to upgrade- the king-size roll is equal to at least 2 regular-sized rolls elsewhere, portion-wise.The dessert menu looked tempting; regrettably, I was far too full and had to get a to-go box, and my significant other was of a similar mind. We will definitely be going back and next time, we'll have to share so we can save room for dessert!
