Okaeri Japanese Bistro Reviews
Walked in without a reservation and they made accommodations to allocate a table provided I was out on time for the party who did have a reservation (which I very much appreciated!). Beautiful fish and nigeri overall and I love that this place focuses pretty much just on simple, beautiful cuts of fish (and a very limited amount of more classic sushi rolls). High quality, great service. I loved the salmon sampler, the snapper, and the tuna belly. I will go back!
Apr 07, 2025 · Suzanne FreyWent for my friend’s birthday and everything was nothing short of amazing! The restaurant has a cozy ambiance and the staff were all very friendly. They even all signed a card for my friend. They also were very welcoming to everyone who came in and made it feel comfortable and homey. The main event was definitely the food! Not one bad dish! 10/10 experience and can’t wait to go back!
Feb 14, 2025 · Michael HigginsOkaeri delivered an absolutely fantastic and authentic Japanese dining experience! The incredible freshness of every dish, from the pristine sashimi and perfectly prepared nigiri and rolls to the divine yellowtail cheeks, was a standout. The service was extremely professional and refreshingly no-nonsense, making us feel truly transported to Tokyo. A top-notch meal and a definite must-try for genuine Japanese cuisine in San Francisco! Loved it.
May 22, 2025 · Francis van SteenbergeWe might have found our new favorite Japanese restaurant! We ordered their toro tartar, uni toast, and saba from their signature dishes, and they were all incredibly good. Considering the price, the quality is outstanding. For starters, we also tried the monkfish liver and chawanmushi. For rolls, we chose the salmon and tuna.Don't forget to get their panna cotta dessert, which comes with Tadaima's matcha cream on top.Btw, they also offer omakase for $95, but we opted to order à la carte from their menu, and we loved it because we were able to try different unique dishes.Definitely coming back again!!! Plus will try the matcha place Tadaima besides it too.
Feb 28, 2025 · Krista DangananCelebrated my birthday here tonight and had the omakase meal along with two desserts. Unlike other omakase experiences where I get full halfway through, this one had fewer courses. The food was excellent, and every dish was well-prepared. However, the restaurant was quite busy and very loud, which made it difficult to have a conversation.
