What sets Omakase by Yun apart, as highlighted by glowing customer reviews, is its refreshing blend of elevation and unpretentiousness. It's a high-end experience that feels comfortable and welcoming, further enhanced by a carefully curated ambiance, including a laid-back, hip-hop jazz playlist that adds a cool, unique energy to the evening. If you're ready for an unforgettable journey through the art of sushi and Japanese gastronomy, Omakase by Yun is poised to deliver.
---Omakase by Yun is conveniently located at 4511 Olde Perimeter Way, Atlanta, GA 30346, USA. This address places it within the bustling Perimeter area of Atlanta, specifically in the vibrant Dunwoody region. The location is strategic, offering excellent accessibility for residents throughout the greater Atlanta metropolitan area, including those from Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, and beyond.
The restaurant's presence on Olde Perimeter Way means it benefits from being in a well-developed commercial district. This typically translates to straightforward navigation and ease of access. For diners arriving by car, the area generally provides ample parking options, which is a significant advantage in Atlanta's often-busy dining scene. Being located within the Perimeter area also implies good connectivity to major highways and arterial roads, making the drive relatively seamless from various parts of Georgia.
While an omakase experience is often a destination in itself, the practicality of its location should not be understated. Whether you're planning a special occasion or simply a sophisticated night out, the ease of reaching Omakase by Yun contributes significantly to the overall comfortable and elevated dining experience. Its accessibility reinforces its position as a prime choice for locals seeking a high-quality Japanese meal without excessive travel complications.
---Omakase by Yun specializes in an intimate and highly curated dining experience, focusing on the traditional Japanese "omakase" style. Here's what patrons can expect:
- Multi-Course Omakase Menu: The core offering is a meticulously crafted multi-course omakase meal. This means the chef selects and presents each dish, showcasing seasonal ingredients and creative preparations. The menu is fluid and changes based on the freshest ingredients available, often flown in from Japan.
- Premium Sushi and Sashimi: The experience heavily features high-quality sushi and sashimi. Chef Yun, with his background, ensures each piece is expertly prepared, often with modern touches and unique flavor profiles. While specific numbers can vary, a typical omakase experience involves a substantial number of courses, often ranging from 16 to 20 pieces/dishes.
- Creative and Thoughtful Courses: Reviews consistently highlight the creativity and thoughtfulness behind each course. The dishes are not only delicious but also visually appealing and designed to take diners on a culinary journey.
- Sake Pairing Guidance: To enhance the flavors of the omakase, Omakase by Yun offers expert sake pairing guidance. This allows diners to explore different sakes that perfectly complement each course, elevating the entire meal. Guests have praised the "spot-on" recommendations.
- Cocktail Program: Beyond sake, the restaurant also features a cocktail program, including unique concoctions like a Yuzu ginger wasabi cocktail mentioned by delighted customers.
- Intimate Seating: The restaurant operates with an intimate setup, typically offering two seatings nightly for a limited number of guests (e.g., 14). This ensures a personal and focused dining experience.
- Exceptional Service: Every single person working at Omakase by Yun is noted for making guests feel welcome and cared for, providing incredible and attentive service that complements the high quality of the food.
Omakase by Yun distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that contribute to its highly praised dining experience:
- Unpretentious Yet Elevated Vibe: This is a recurring theme in customer feedback. Despite offering a high-end omakase experience, the atmosphere is described as refreshingly unpretentious, making guests feel completely at ease. This creates a comfortable luxury that is often hard to achieve.
- Creative and Beautifully Executed Courses: Chef Yun's culinary artistry shines through in every dish. The courses are not just delicious but also innovative, thoughtful, and presented with impeccable aesthetics, making each a small work of art.
- Spot-On Sake Pairings: The guidance provided for sake pairings is a significant highlight, enhancing the flavors of the sushi and overall dining journey. For sake enthusiasts, this tailored experience is a major draw.
- Unique Music Selection: The "chill, hip-hop jazz playlist" is often mentioned as a unique and refreshing element that contributes to the laid-back, cool energy of the evening, setting a distinct mood compared to other fine dining establishments.
- Incredible Price Point for Quality: Despite the high quality and curated nature of the omakase, customers have expressed gratitude for the "incredible price point" which makes this elevated experience more accessible compared to other high-end omakase spots in major cities. This offers exceptional value for the level of culinary artistry provided. (Note: While reviews mention "incredible price point," it's important to understand that "omakase" is generally a premium dining experience. As of recent public data, a 16-course omakase meal here is around $185 per person, which is considered accessible for this caliber of dining.)
- Attentive and Caring Service: The staff at Omakase by Yun are consistently praised for making guests feel welcomed and cared for, providing an attentive and personalized service that significantly enhances the overall experience.
- Well-Curated Experience: From the food to the music and service, every detail at Omakase by Yun is thoughtfully curated, leading to an "unforgettable omakase experience that nails both service and soul."
- High-Quality Ingredients: The reliance on fresh, often directly sourced ingredients from places like Tokyo's Toyosu market ensures the highest quality and taste in every bite.
As a content writer, I must rely on publicly available and verifiable information. Given the nature of Omakase by Yun as a specialized, reservation-only omakase experience, traditional "promotions" like happy hour deals or daily specials are less common than with à la carte restaurants. The value proposition of an omakase typically lies in the curated, multi-course experience itself.
However, potential "offers" or aspects of their pricing structure that might be considered beneficial include:
- Set Omakase Menu Pricing: The restaurant operates on a set omakase menu, meaning the price per person for the entire multi-course experience is generally fixed (e.g., around $185 per person for 16 courses, as observed in recent public data). This provides transparency and allows diners to budget for the experience without unexpected add-ons for the main meal.
- Sake Pairing Options: While an additional cost, the option to add a sake tasting or pairing flight (e.g., $40-$95 per person, based on different reported options) is a structured way to enhance the meal. This is a common and highly recommended offering for omakase experiences, allowing guests to explore expertly matched beverages.
- Lunch Options (Potential Future Offering): While currently focusing on dinner, some reports indicate that a smaller omakase menu for lunch or select small bites for an after-dinner crowd might be offered in the future. These could present a different price point or experience.
- Seasonal Ingredient Focus: The ever-changing nature of the omakase menu, driven by seasonal availability and the chef's creativity, means that each visit can feel like a new, unique "special offer" in itself, providing a fresh experience every time.
For the most current information regarding their specific omakase pricing, any seasonal offerings, or details on beverage pairings, it is always best for prospective diners to visit Omakase by Yun's official website or contact them directly.
---To book your unforgettable omakase experience at Omakase by Yun, here's how you can reach them:
- Address: 4511 Olde Perimeter Way, Atlanta, GA 30346, USA
- Phone: (470) 395-3068
Given the intimate nature of the omakase experience and limited seating, reservations are highly recommended, often made in advance. Contacting them directly via phone or checking their website for reservation details is the best approach to secure your spot.
---For residents of Georgia, especially those in the Atlanta metropolitan area, Omakase by Yun represents a truly exceptional and suitable dining choice, particularly for those seeking a premium yet approachable Japanese culinary experience. It stands out in a crowded dining scene for several compelling reasons that resonate deeply with local preferences and desires.
Firstly, its location in the Perimeter area, specifically Dunwoody, makes it highly accessible for a significant portion of Atlanta's population. Easy access and likely convenient parking remove common urban dining stresses, allowing patrons to focus entirely on the upcoming culinary journey.
What makes Omakase by Yun truly suitable for locals is its unique balance of elevated fine dining with an unpretentious, welcoming atmosphere. While omakase experiences can sometimes feel intimidating, the reviews highlight that Chef Yun and his team excel at making guests feel "completely at ease" and "cared for." This creates an environment where locals can celebrate special occasions, enjoy an elevated date night, or simply indulge in a world-class meal without feeling out of place.
The "incredible price point" for the caliber of omakase offered is another significant factor. In a market where high-end sushi can often be prohibitively expensive, Omakase by Yun provides an accessible entry point to an elite dining experience. This value allows more locals to enjoy the creative, thoughtful, and beautifully executed courses, along with expertly guided sake pairings, making it a sustainable indulgence rather than a once-in-a-lifetime splurge for many.
Finally, the dedication to every detail, from the selection of the freshest ingredients flown in from Japan to the unique hip-hop jazz soundtrack, culminates in a dining experience that is not just a meal but an event. For Georgians who appreciate culinary artistry, impeccable service, and a memorable evening that nourishes both body and soul, Omakase by Yun is undoubtedly a local treasure waiting to be discovered and revisited.

Omakase by Yun Reviews
Omakase by Yun is hands down my favorite restaurant in Georgia. I’ve been to many omakase spots in both Georgia and NYC, and Yun truly stands out. The vibe is refreshingly unpretentious yet elevated, with a team that makes you feel completely at ease. The courses are creative, thoughtful, and beautifully executed. The sake pairing guidance was spot-on, making the experience even more special. I also loved the music — a chill, hip-hop jazz playlist that gave the whole evening a laid-back, cool energy. Every detail, from the food to the vibe, was so well-curated. If you’re looking for an unforgettable omakase experience that nails both service and soul, this is it.
April 26 · Angela ChangI honestly cannot say enough about this amazing place. We ate the most delicious and creative food that we had had in a long time. The service was incredible, every single person working there made us feel welcome and cared for. I did the sake tasting, and it was hands-down the best sakes I have ever had. My husband had a Yuzu ginger wasabi cocktail that we will be trying to re-create at home. The thing that stands out for us besides the food is the incredible price point. That alone makes this restaurant accessible to us and we are grateful!! We cannot wait to go back!
January 13 · Dr. Jenevieve GossThis was one of, if not the best meals of my life. Everything from the service, the vibes, the presentation, and of course the food was absolutely amazing. A perfect dinner to celebrate my birthday with my partner. I cannot wait to go again.
December 15 · James CrabtreeI ate here with my mother while visiting from out of state. The food, service, and atmosphere were phenomenal. I've eaten sushi all over the world and Chef Yun is truly an artist when it comes to his dishes. There wasn't a single course that I wasn't blown away by, although if I had to pick favorites, I would have to say the uni ama ebi and the Big Mac nigiri were my picks. We will definitely be visiting again the next time we find ourselves in ATL!
January 10 · CarolineI forgot to take some photos because the food and experience were phenomenal. The service is extremely attentive and hospitable. Chef Yun describes many of the dishes and has clear passion for his craft. I've had sushi around the world including Japan, South Korea, Seattle, Vegas, and of course Atlanta, but this is definitely the best of the best.I also had a headache for most of the dinner and it is still one of the best meals I've ever had. Will be back again.
